DIS bash in North Carolina!! All are welcome!

We would love to join the in the fun. There are two of us but we are waiting to here from our friends who are also DCV members.
We were at the last meet at Streets at Southpoint and had a realy nice time.

Jack and Paula

Don't worry about it DVCajun :D I may not be wanted at the meet after I say this though- I'm toying with the ideal of selling ours. AACK! I really want to not work and stay home with my baby (who will be one on the 2nd by the way). Though it would be a shame to sell after paying on it for over two years (only 7 1/2 more to go till it's paid off). Anyways, that's what's going on in my life.

My DW recently gave up a fulltime then a parttime job to stay home with both kids to homeschool(we're real dissapointed with public schools in our county, not the teachers). Anyway we are fairly new to DVC and have 9 yrs left to pay and the homeschool situation has come around in the meantime.

My point I guess is try to find some way to keep at least enough pts to keep a few days at WDW because you will probably regret it later IMHO. We arent rolling in $$ by any means but I do try to put in a few extra hrs on weekends to help offset the DVC costs.

Just wanted you to know there are others out there in similar cases. Dont give up yet.

Hope to meet you at the Nov get together!!

Thanks JT, I probably won't sell, but I'm trying to cut out as much as I can, we are in the process of refinancing our house and my car so that will be an extra $250 or so a month, plus when we get to skip our payment next month for the refinancing I'll pay off three more credit cards with the mortgage payment we get to skip, so slowly but surely I'm whittleling it down so maybe I can at least work part-time. Thanks for the encouragement. I really want to keep the DVC so we can have really nice vacations because I know if I sell it will be back to offsite or the All Star resorts and I'm just too spoiled now. Looking forward to meeting you at the meet also :D DVCajun- I pm'd you back :D
Take care!

We are planning on coming. We have a 8yr old and 9 yr old, is it ok to bring them?

You have an 8 & 9 year old --- boy/girl? Our DD is 9 and would like to meet some other children, especially if they like to trade pins.

Our DS is 8, DD is 9, she will be turning 10 at WLV Dec 15. She is fairly new to Pin trading. She started her collection during our last trip to WDW in sept-oct '01. She has 20-25 pins I'm guessing.

Anyway I feel sure she would love to see your DDs collection and do some trading.

Kids are certainly welcome! :)

I was wondering what you guys thought about making this a chili dinner? Some of us could make chili, others could make cornbread, others could bring stuff like cheese and sour cream and of course desserts.

I just thought that November 9th would probably be getting colder and some nice hot chili would really hit the spot!

What are your thoughts?

Mmmm...Chili - Sounds good to me. I'm not usually a big cornbread person but my mom made this stuff a few months ago it had the regular cornbread but then she added monteray jack, mild green chilis and some other stuff - it was awesome! Maybe I could get the recipe and bring that :D

"Maybe" my foot! After that yummy description you aren't allowed in unless you bring that cornbread! ;)

I just talked with my DW and she indicated that she could bake a cake ---- she makes the best cakes! How is the food situation going to be handled? Is everyone bringing their own or is there a list going around? BTW, how many people have signed up?

Jimmytammy,

I talked with my DD and she is excited to meet your DD. She also plans to bring some of her traders to see if she can add to her pin collection.

Surely someone else wants to add their voice to the chili v. regular potluck discussion?

Ok, I think each of us should just bring whatever we want to!! Except for Heather, who has to bring that cornbread. ;) I will make a big pot of chili. That way we'll have the best of both worlds. As far as organization is concerned, I'm rather inclined to just go with "luck" like we always did at church potlucks. What you get is what you get! I'm sure we won't starve.

So, I'll see you in a couple of weeks!

Hey guys sorry I havent responded lately. The moment after I said we were coming I found out that we are going to a nieces bday party at Chuck e cheese in Greensboro so we are like what now. Sat we learned the party starts at noon so shouldnt be a problem coming to this bash albeit a tad late. Its about 1hr 20 min drive from Greensboro to Raleigh.

The potluck thing sounds good, I will get with DW and see what she can conjure up. Looking forward to meeting yall and swapping stories about WDW trips and such!

Hi guys,
I haven't been on the board in ages so I almost missed the posting (although I was at WDW last weekend). I can make it!
In fact, Falls River clubhouse in only 5 minutes from my own home and I'm delighted to have a meeting so close. I'm trying to convince my husband to join us, but I think he's all Disneyed out.....hates the parks, loves the golfing! Let me know if there are any kindred spirits and i'll bring him along.
I'm happy to bring whatever you need.
See you soon,
Jeanne
