DIS BABY THREAD! Check in here!

Hey Minnesota!

Your due date is 8 days ahead of mine! I am having a planned c-secton at 38 weeks, so I guess I can take 14 days off my counter, but you never know!! It will be fun to see who has who's baby first! Good Luck to you!

Tinktwins--your family sounds like ours! 5 kids is GOING to be it for us though! With a scheduled section, I am having what can be cut, CUT! Don't know how we are going to do WDW with 5 kids, but we will find a way!

nkjzmom,
I do not have any advice for you--Sorry! When I was pregnant with the twins, I could NOT sleep at night. I learned lots of computer games--boo hoo! I took it as getting my body's clock to be up at all hours of the night when the twins came. In the long run, I still feel that was the purpose of the non sleeping! I think for a 8 week stretch after the twins came home, I was averaging 2-3 hours(total night time sleep). Those 2-3 hours came in short 15 min. intervals between the I'm hungry cries--LOL!!

Good luck to ALL of you!

I'm not pregnant (thank God!) but I did find out last weekend that I am going to be a grandma for the second time!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Congrats to all the new mommies and daddies!

I'm 10 weeks pregnant with our second child - due Aug. 18! Our DS is 5 and we haven't told him yet but I think he'll be excited. I go for my first ultrasound on Feb. 9 so I think we'll tell him after that assuming all looks well. I'm very nervous (even though I have no real reason to be but I am nonetheless). Perhaps it's the age thing (I'm 36) and worrying about all the potential risks etc. Arrgh. Oh well. I'd like to find out the sex of the baby but I'm not sure if DH wants to or not. I think it's another boy for some reason but of course I have no way of knowing for sure!

Congratulations everyone!!

I have restless legs too. It's making me NUTS. I've had it since I was young though and am sort of used to it. That on top of the sciatica and lower back pain make it wuite interesting when I try to get out of bed. All I can do is laugh it hurts so much. DH probably thinks I'm lying LOL

For sleep I was told that magnesium was to blame. So if you have insomina try taking an extra magensium vitamin. My prenatals don't gie me the daily allowance so it's ok that I do that :) It actually has helped alot. :)

YAY!! Happy baby thoughts and easy labors and recoveries to all of us!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :sunny:

Hey mommies and daddies! Congrats to everybody. Saw this thread and thought I'd go ahead and check in. James Anthony is due on April 1st, but Dh is hoping he arrives on March 28th so he can get out of doing phys.inventory at his store.:p So far things have been very, very quiet. Well...medically at least. No high blood pressure, haven't been throwing out protein or sugar in the urinanalysis the doc does every time I go in, so that's all good. Took the Glucose Tolerance Test (YUCK!:( )and that came out ok, just as I expected. Haven't gained TOO much weight. I know some of ya'll are going to hate me for that.:teeth:

Project Poohbear (our nursery)is about 70% complete. We've painted it, recarpeted that room and we are just waiting on the furninture the ILs ordered back in late Nov to show up. Had the shower last Sat..and boy was THAT interesting.

James is pretty active for such a little thing. I hardly get any sleep any more because as soon as I try to go to sleep, he wants to jump around, twist and do all kinds of things to keep me awake. :p

DH and I can't wait for him to get here. He is our first little one and one much waited for and prayed for. I'd been told that while it wouldn't be IMPOSSIBLE for me to get pregnant without help, it would be very difficult. I was not willing to turn my life upside down charting, taking my temperature, only making love on certain days every cycle, and basically making myself and DH nuts in pursuit of a baby. I figured if it was going to happen, it would happen. If not..oh well. Then it wasn't meant to be. Then in Sept (on Sept 11, as a matter of fact) we found out from the OB that there was DEFINATELY something in there and we both cried.

Every time I hear that Elton John song "Blessed", I think of James and I know that I can't wait till he arrives so I know who he looks like, what his personality is.

I need you before I"m too old.
To have and to hold.
To walk with you and watch you grow.
And to know that you're blessed.

That verse always gets me because I felt like I was getting too old (even though I'm only 25) to have a kid. I knew I wasn't but part of me said if it hadn't happend by now, it probably wasn't ever going to happen and tried to resign myself to that. But the Goddess, in her infinite wisdom, had other plans I guess.:smooth:

I'm 10 weeks pregnant with my second baby (third pregnancy). I heard the heartbeat yesterday, so I'm feeling a lot more confident about it now.

Jacob, my first, will be about 18-19 months when this baby is born. They'll be close together, but we wanted it that way. Jacob is really easy-going, so I don't think it will be much of a problem. I just need to get Jacob to nurse less before the baby is born. I'm completely fine with nursing 2 at one time, but he's eating about 8-10 times/day right now, and I'm hoping to cut it down to 2-3.

Nkjzmom, if you don't want a c-section, get to a chiropractor now. There's something they do (I think it's called the Weber or Webster technique) that's more successful at turning babies than an external version, and it's painless. I've never had it done, but I have friends who did, and they were all very happy with it.

Not pregnant but I had to peek on this thread to see who was. Congratulations and best wishes to all the pregnant DISers!!!:D

Minnesota! ~~ Noelle is a BEAUTIFUL name, as is Ryan. You have wonderful taste in names, as far as I'm concerned.

Congrats to all the pregnant DISer's! The month's will just fly by as you wait for your little ones to arrive. Our youngest turned 6-months-old today, and I can't believe how quickly time has passed already.

Signed,
Angela Noell, mom to Samantha Noell and Ryan Michael :teeth:

What a fertile place the DIS is, Pete is going to have to have a DIS nursery pretty soon. :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Congratulations and best wishes to everyone here, continued good health and safe, comfortable pregnancies for all. And all those who are trying, or have tried and still want, keep up the good work. :) And for those really tough cases, remember the adoption option, an adoptive dad here speaking.

Really nice to ee everyone coming along here. :sunny:

I am in the final count down. I will be induced next Tuesday or Wednesday with baby #2 (at 38 weeks). We did find out the sex and know that we are having another little boy--Brennen Andrew. Time has all but stopped since I found out I was going to be induced (I can not imagine waiting another 3 weeks for him to be born!!), but I have sooo much to do before the baby comes I really should be "nesting" instead of "dissing". But, I am on bedrest so I try to only get up for about 10 minutes at a time, at this rate my house will never be clean!!

HI guys! Boy, Dan is right ... lots of new parents-to-be here!
DH & I FINALLY (we've been trying 9 yrs) fit into this post!!! Yea!!!!! :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

We are expecting the stork to deliver on 5/25. We are adopting our 1st baby. I went last week with the birthmom to the dr. She wanted to find out, so we know it is a boy. Everything seems to be going really well. (The social worker says so anyway!)

Good Luck to everyone!

P.S. I think Noelle is a GREAT name anytime of the year!
By the way, I had NO IDEA it would be so difficult to pick out a name. It seemed like such an easy job until it happened to us! EVERYONE (family/coworkers/some friends) have opinions. I think we will not tell anyone until baby is here, surely then they wouldn't say anything! Who knows! LOL!

Just checking in with the rest of you. DW and I are expecting our 4th child on March 17th:scared: If the sonogram technician is correct, baby Aleah will be making her grand entrance and that will give us 2 of a kind but I think I will not work for the "full house"!

Congratulations to everyone else and I wish you all well.

Adam aka Big Dude

We're pregnant with our 2nd and 3rd, due 4/18. a boy and a girl, to join our son (23 months now).

My DH and I are expecting out second mid- to late April. If the tests are correct we are having another boy.

Twins, mtemm? Wow...that's cool. I was hoping for twins (but don't tell DH!:p ) but we only got a singleton. Which is fine too. I think having twins would be so cool. DH's grandfather is a twin.

And what IS it about pregnant women and housecleaning? I spent an hour and a half cleaning my bathroom yesterday when normally it only takes me like 20 min? Why do I suddenly feel this compulsion to clean EVERYTHING in sight? Why does the sight of a cat hair on the couch or the office chair make me want to shave the cat? Am I going crazy?

TOV... I feel the same way..yet I have absolutely no energy!!!

I've been going through one room at a time cleaning out, donating old toys/clothes, dusting areas that haven't been dusted in months....then I'm wiped out for a few days.

Another preggo here! I'm 16 weeks today with a planned single mommy baby. This pregnancy has been much more difficult than with my son. I have low blood sugar, have been sick with this virus and strep throat, and my migraines have returned. UGH!! Yesterday when I went to my appt. my blood pressure was up and my weight was down. They said it was because I had been taking sudafed for so many days and that's why I had a higher blood pressure and the weight is down because nothing tastes good. I'm hoping things start looking better!!

Anyway, I want to know what it is this time because I want to know if I should start buying any new things for a girl. I really want a girl!!

As for names, I decided with my son (by accident I found out the sex, I didn't want to know!) to choose his name and only tell my mother what the name was going to be (his father and I weren't together) and then after he was born I would be the first one to give him his name. In the event I was unable then my mom knew my wishes and would name him, luckily for all involved I was able to give him his name the first time I saw him. (He was in a step 2 nicu and I hate to wait 10 hours).

I'm doing the same thing with this one. I will choose the name and then only reveal it to my mom. this way I don't have to worry about people questioning the name and making me doubt what i want to name him/her! BTW I love the name Tara ;) and I think Noelle and Ryan are both wonderful!!

Just had to bump this one up from page 2! Congratulations to all of the parents-to-be!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

I am currently 21 weeks pregnant with a little girl! I am thanking God every day and we are so excited. This will be our first baby, but my second pregnancy. I lost twins at 11 weeks in Jan. 2003.

BTW, I love everyone's names!

LynetteSC, I'm so excited that you're going to get a baby! That's wonderful news. I completely agree that sometimes it's just best to not tell anyone your name until after it's actually on the baby. People are much less likely to criticize it then. That's what DH and I do. I guess it's not a big deal if you don't mind the criticism, but we do.
