Another good article from Kelly Mack was posted today:

Traveling to Disney World: An Accessible Ground Transportation Failure

On a recent trip Kelly stayed at the Dolphin, which doesn't participate with Magical Express. This was their first WDW trip without Magical Express - they used Mears accessible shuttle service, with mixed success. Her experience may be a preview of what some of us will face once Magical Express stops running at the end of this year.

I did a search and there are a few other companies that claim to have accessible Taxis, among them are:
Comfort ride - https://www.comfortride.info/wheelchair-taxi.html

Diamond CAB Company - https://www.diamondcabco.com/services/

Not a taxi company, but other options are:
amera solutions - https://www.amerasolutions.com/orlando-wheelchair-taxi-service/

Admittedly, I don't know how reliable any of these services are and/or if they are still in business after COVID shutdowns, but this was with a 5 minute google search.

But this is clearly an issue that needs addressing, seems to me like there is a market here if anyone has the money and inclination to startup a business.

It’s understandably upsetting if it’s something you’ve grown comfortable relying on but it’s probably not going to be as bad as some people fear. It’s likely to be basically the same thing except now there will be a fee. Stinks, that. Not surprising tho as WDW just gets more expensive every year one way or another.

Mears announced last month on April 8th that they’d be continuing the MCO/WDW service. The new system is called Mears Connect (Link above). It is expected to be the same fleet currently used.

Back in Jan ‘21 when WDW announced the change:
“Walt Disney [World] made us aware of their decision,” Mears spokesperson Roger Chapin said. “While we are disappointed Disney will no longer offer this service, we intend to continue offering transportation services between the airport and all area theme parks and hotels to meet the demand of our visitors now and in the future.”

Looks like WDW decided not to renew the contract with Mears to supply ME and Mears has decided to continue offering the service on their own. There are other transportation options in Orlando.

For larger groups this has some competitively priced options:
