It didn't look like our site had that many trees, but all we could get was about 66% signal strength on the DirectTV using transponder 19.

How would a signal meter help? We have the KVH model on the top of our motorhome. I apologize for my ignorance.

I wound up just connecting our cable to the site since we were in a premium loop, but we could only get channels 1-13. None of the Disney channels would come through, isn't that strange?!

Unfortunately with a lot of obstructions and a fixed dish like on a trailer/MH you're sort of stuck. A portable dish that you can move around is IMHO the way to go.

I have two 75 ohm outlets on the outside of my trailer and two at each TV location (bedroom and living room entertainment area). One outside if for satellite and the other is for cable. One inside outlet is directly tied to one of the outside outlets and the other is for either the roof mounted antenna when the amplifier is on or for cable when it's off and you have the cable coax hooked up on the outside outlet.

we have gotten a signal in the 1700 and 1600 loops. we do a lot of camping here in wisconsin with a lot of trees and get the signal.

dh will go out (away from the camper) to an opening to find the signal. he will get the signal to know how the dish needs to be pointed, etc. then head back into the site to find it closer to the camper.

maybe you could try this. he loves the challenge of finding that signal in the sky .

Deb - That's the zip code we entered. Next time we head into town we are going to get a signal tester. Guess the best place to purchase one would be Camper World??

I purchased my signal meter from ebay about 3 years ago and love it. I think I paid $20. I have yet to be on a site I could not find a signal.

we had a 96 signal strength on site 929 this past weekend...if you are in the 900 loop, it is the most unobstructed i have found yet...
