Directtv help needed...

Okay after 4.5 hours we have directtv. With only one problem.

I can not 'remove' the channels we dont have. Meaning- when I want to use the channel up or down button, I have to go through all the channels I dont have or want or use.

I went to parental control, and blocked the channels, but the only difference that made was the bottom right corner block- it use to say "you are not subscribed to this channel, please call directtv to order" and now it says "channel is blocked, please enter your lock code to unlock"...

I want the channel GONE...I called my X, because I KNOW I did this with our old Directtv receivers at his house. Sure enough I did, but he says I did it, and he doesnt know how.. lol...

I emailed directtv and got the standard 'read your owners manual' answer which doesnt help much! All i can find in that is how to block it. I want them GONE from the channel line up.

Set up a custom list -- it's an option on the menu screen. That's where you can uncheck all the channels you don't get.

I was going to type up the steps but I found them on the www.directv.com site these are for an RCA box. (if you go back to the demo page you can select others ..SONY..etc)

Okay it worked. 1 TV down, 2 to go.

Now, if I can figure out a way to get the stupid tv in my bedroom to be 'compatable' with the stupid directtv box, so i can control the volume etc.. I'll be in a really happy mood. The DTV guy said 'no code' blah blah...not what i wanted to hear!
