Ok, I have been doing some research on how to get to the contemporary resort (Chef mickey yeah) or for that matter GF, MK, etc.. from Summer Bay Resort (which is on 192 a little past Avalon road - 545). It looks like I have several alternatives. And I am hoping someone can shed light on the positive/negatives of these ways to go - which would also help other drivers coming from 192 West / 27 area. Ok here is the list of alternatives from Summer bay resort:

1) Take 192 to 429 (North) to the Western Way to Buena Vista Dr (Go Left) to World Dr.
Pros: Faster - Maybe fastest way - skips alot of 192
Cons: $1.25 for the toll now (I read it went up from $1.00)
Also there are reported Police on western way who will ticket you (this could be avoided by doing the speed limit)

2) Take 192 to Avalon rd. (make left) to Hartzog rd. (make right) then make right at Western Way (then follow the rest of 1)
Pros: You skip a lot of 192, you skip the toll on 429
Cons: Back roads - maybe dirt
Hartzog maybe closed due to flamingo crossing construction? (I will be there mid-June 13-20th don't know if this will be true?)
Maybe be slightly less fast then 429 - but I do cut out more of 192

3) Take 192 to Avalon Rd. (make left), make right on to Seidel Rd., make right on to Reams rd., make right on Center Dr., make left onto N World Drive. This is the "back" way into Disney.
Pros: Avoid toll on 429. Avoids a lot of 192.
Even though it is a back way - looks like a straight shot?
Cons: There is a Disney "gate" at Reams and Center Dr. Is this accessible to the public?

4) Take 192 to Black Lake rd (make left), then make a left onto Sherbeth rd., then make right onto Osceola, the get on World Dr. You can also do a variation on this where you turn left onto Sherbeth from 192.
Pros: Avoids toll on 429. Avoids much of 192. (Great for getting to AK but this is post is for CR or MK). No Gates or Dirt roads to deal with.
Cons: Is there construction on Osceola - will it affect this route?
Has to be slower than the 429 - Western Way route but by how much really?

5) Take 192 to World Dr.
Pros: Most Straight forward, and easiest to not get lost
Cons: Lights on 192 - could be the slowest route of all?

6) Also looks like there is a route where I could take 192 to Linfields Blvd (right turn) to a road called Funie Steed Rd. Take that to Entry Blvd. - make a left go across to Sherbeth rd.
Pros: Avoids a lot of 192.
Cons: Funie Steed is dirt? This looks like it is going a little out of the way (going South a little to go north - but 192 goes south too)? Can I really go down Linfields Blvd - Is it gated?

Ok these are the 6 different ways I see to go from Summer bay to the CR (or MK or GF). Please weigh in on the PROS and CONS and which one you think is the best way. I have to drive to the CR or MK or GF at least 4 times (or more - my family likes a mid-day break) on my trip and I am staying at Summer Bay (June 13th to 20th) yeah! I will also be going to Epcot and DHS and AK, for those I will use some variation of the above routes (but not back way - route 3).

I appreciate everyone's help - I have basically gotten all these routes from google maps and these Boards! You guys are great on these Boards!

TIA ... Dave

Why are you asking us, you seem to have it covered. :thumbsup2
#6: Yes you can go down Lindfield Blvd, not gated and take Funie Steed which is paved to Entry Point. The only section that is dirt is between Formosa Gardens Blvd and Entry Point (1/2 mile). We use it when we stay in that area.

It's all according to when you're going as to the traffic on 192. If there's not much traffic then I wouldn't bother taking the back roads.
My vote is for #4 or #6 or would try #1 once and see if it's worth the toll.
On this map check out the shortcuts using Sherberth: Red line #1 starting at Entry Point. It's marked from Windsor Hills but you can follow it from Entry Point back along Funie Steed. We always go in this way.

Thanks Wanda! I am thinking about just taking 192 and not worrying about the back roads, but I will be there at a busy time - June 13-20, so I am not sure how bad 192 will be? And I am an over planner! I love to save time!

Do any of the people who stay near 27 (Summer Bay, Liki Tiki, etc..) favor #2 or #3? Looks like some back ways using Avalon.

(And yeah I over research!)

Yes, I do too, thus the map I made. Can never have too much information when planning a trip. :thumbsup2

Hartzog is closed .To get where you are going the 429 is the better bet I think.
