An alternate and less traffic route is I-4 to the 429 and get off at Western Way. I-4 is free, you'll have a fe dollars in tolls on the 429, but IMHO paying tolls is worthwhile to avoid I-4 traffic woes.

Leaving the airport watch for signs to I-275. You will be taking I-275 North through Tampa for about 5 miles to the interchange with I-4 (get into one of the righthand lanes as you approach the interchange and bear right onto I-4). It's about 70 miles to Orlando.
Yes. You would get on 429 about a mile after you pass the exit for Route 27 as you head Eastbound on I-4. You would take that to Hertzog Road/Western Way and come out by Coronado Springs. IMHO It's far better to pay the $1.75 in tolls for a pleasant, uncongested and easy to navigate ride than to fight traffic at the big interchanges a bit further up I-4.
The Southern end of the 429 opened last December, fully connecting I-4 to the previously built portions.
And BTW--They would take it from TAMPA on I-4 before they'd take it from DAYTONA on I-4--a route that wouldn't make sense for any reason.
