In a week and a half my parents (67 and 71) will be driving from Orlando International Airport to Vero Beach Resort. They got directions from AAA but they said it is too long and does not seem the way they went a several years ago. Before on this board someone gave me great directions but my dad's computer crashed last year and that info is lost. I would try mapquest but found every time getting any direction from them was wrong (ie, to somewhere local or to New Jersey from New York). I found the following on line. It mentions a toll but I have looked at the past messages dating back to 2003 and some say no toll. What do you think of the below? Do you have any improvments from it. I want to make sure they get there safely and stress free. Thanks.

From Orlando International Airport (Via I-95 South)

Take the Beachline 528 East (toll road) to I-95 South
Follow I-95 South to 512 East – exit 156 Sebastian/Fellsmere
Turn left on 512 East to US 1 (6.5 miles)
Turn right on US 1 South to 510 (4.5 miles)
Turn left on 510 East to A1A (2.5 miles)
Turn right on A1A
The resort is immediately on the left

That's the way to go from the airport. There aren't that many ways to get there from the airport. There is a toll between the airport and I-95 I think (I can never remember exactly where the toll booths are).

If you're coming from WDW, you can go over 192 to Melbourne - it's possible they are remembering that? The airport is not IN Orlando, but further east. So it would make no sense to drive WEST to Orlando, then back EAST to get to Vero Beach, when you're starting @ the airport.

Those directions are the best way to go -- and it's very straightforward too - nothing complicated. Other choices involve driving from the Beachline (528) all the way over to Route 1 and taking that South, but that will take a lot longer than taking I-95, due to traffic, traffic lights, slower speeds, etc.

Thank you for the reply. I try to help my dad with the map. Thanks a bunch.
