We are in the process of trying to arrange a trip with dmil for 1 week-
Next Sept or October.

99.9% would prefer to fly from Newcastle, but if the price is considerably cheaper-we would have to stay overnight and pay for parking-would consider Manchester or Glasgow.

Never been away this time of year before-and foolishly thought prices would be similar to late April/May-but sadly that's not what I'm seeing:confused3

So, what would be an average/good price?
Couldn't leave til last minute either-dmil would not settle!:laundy:

We paid £1,000 PE with VA, both ways from MAN.

I haven't seen a considerable drop since though. Which airline, and are you wanting direct? :)

Yes,only direct flights.

In order of preference-

1. Thomson from Newcastle
2. Virgin from Manchester
3. Thomas cook from Manchester
4. Virgin from Glasgow
5. Thomas cook from Glasgow.

I stupidly thought we might get flights for around £600 as we are not looking to go in school holiday times.:dance3:

2015?? I would personally wait . Prices tend to drop around end of may for september. Thats been the trend previously anyway. If its this year wait till end of may but its a case of looking everyday or set up alerts . Some people do it on here but I dont know how to. Last sept going the 17th they were £543 with VA.

Last direct flights we took with VA were from Glasgow and they were not cheap. It was the first week of October and the flight was packed - sold out well in advance of departure. The problem with the flights from Glasgow with VA is that they only operate on certain days at certain times of the year, they only fly on weekends so you always pay a weekend supplement per segment, per person and there is an additional fee the airline incurs from flying from Glasgow, which is passed to the passenger. Due to the demand alone, you may find this the toughest.

Manchester had some pretty decent prices when I was looking for this year's flights.

Your best bet is to keep an eye on any airline and any airport you are willing to use and monitor it. Also, signing up to Kayak for prices starts to give you an idea of what you're looking at.
