Yeah I am fine with the one transfer per year rule, even if it does restrict me a bit with 2 use years. And if it cuts down on the commercial renters stripping and flipping, then I am all for it.
But I guess I don't understand why anything other than a normal transfer is classified as a "transfer." There is nothing about making a cruise reservation, world collection reservation, or buying an annual pass that would really require transferring points. The points are converted instantly, can't be refunded or used for
DVC reservations any more, etc. So I really hope they will start considering these things as not being a transfer as there is not really a way to abuse it like the commercial renters were doing with the strip and flip. This will help incentivize members to use their extra points with Disney themselves after all, instead of renting them out.
ETA: It would also help members like myself who are considering adding some direct points in our second use year. With no downside that I can think of. I will mention this to a guide whenever I talk to one so they can clarify. Because it would actually incentivize me towards resale VGC instead of direct VDH/VGC for my second use year if everything that isn't really a transfer is classified as a transfer.
