Dinosaur the ride..am I just a chicken?

call me crazy...

what kind of ride is it? BF and I made a special trip back to AK (in a downpour) just to ride this and when we got there, it was shut down because something had malfunctioned or something. It was our last day at the parks so we weren't able to go back to ride it. We plan on it for the next trip but now I'm concerned. I like all kinds of roller coasters and rides. The only ride I really don't like in all of WDW is TOT.

What kind of ride is this?

This ride isn't a roller coaster type ride. It doesn't have drops or loops. It is a scary ride because it's dark, there are terrifying dinosaurs that lunge into your face (especially if you sit in the front right seat), and it's loud. The story line is scary and I can definitely see it scaring some people. But, it's my favorite ride at WDW!! :) :) It's not something that you will walk away from disturbed for the rest of the day and have nightmares about at night...lol. It's a fun ride that has a scary element to it.

If you're someone who won't do TofT, or RnR, or some of the other fast rollercoasters at WDW, then Dinosaur may be your "big" ride that you enjoy. I won't do the rollercoasters anymore, and I think I went on my last RnR ride last week (I just can't handle going upside down anymore). But Dinosaur is something that I can really enjoy because there aren't any G-forces involved...lol.

And if you like Dinosaur at WDW, you will LOVE the Indian Jones ride at DL. It is kinda like the same type of ride...you're in a jeep and you ride through the story with lots of bumps and near misses.

Im not scared most people are scared of the noises and turbulance :rockband: :moped: :badpc: :thewave: :jumping2: :space: :drinking1 :crowded: :duck: :hyper:

This ride totally terrifies me!!! I have ridden it several times, know where the dinosaurs are coming out, know the loud parts, and still at the end of the ride I have the funniest looking picture crouching in fear! I tell myself each time "OK , you know what is going to happen, you know where they come out at, don't let it get you " -- never works!! My "brave" teenager looked like he was trying to hide under the dash in the front seat. I think the funny pictures at the end are the reason I put myself through riding this attraction every trip!! :earboy2:

See I am weird  :earboy2: ....I love RnR and I loved Indiana Jones at Disneyland--for some reason I just scream my head off over Dinosaur! We laugh like crazy when we're off but traumatized when we're riding! :teeth:

I love Dinosaur, it's one of my favorite rides! But this past trip we took my best friend tagged along. She's been to Disney many times but for some reason she'd never been on this ride. So we got on and within 30 seconds she was screaming like a little girl :rotfl: She said she's never getting on it again...but the picture was sure funny! We each bought a copy and she thinks it's funny now but she still wont get on it again. Oh well, I like it!

well when i was there is sept i went on this alone as my mom chickened out
i was scared and found it ot be very very loud and jerky
i would do it again though!!!

I don't think anybody's chicken for not riding this ride - it's terrifying for me everytime, but I still go back. It's one of our favorite rides, and we always promise ourselves that we'll keep our eyes open for the picture, but we never do!!

My gf and I loved this ride. Knowing where they take our picture was fun. There was one time where we purposely made it look like we were sleeping. :earboy2: The pic was funny. Here was everyone else is holding on for dear life and we looked zonked out, her head on my shoulder, me leaning against her..lol Another time we had our tongues sticking out making sure they were back in our mouths when the rover started moving so we wouldnt accidently bite them.

Now another thing I want to point out is this. We rode it on Sunday several times, once in each row. Later in the week we rode it again and this time it was WAY MORE intense. We rode it several times to confirm our suspicions. It jerked, jumped, bumped way more. When we rode it the first time that week her and I could ride it without holding on. This time we had to hold on to keep our spines from being yanked out place.

I asked a cm if he knew if the Time Rovers program had been changed since Sunday. He said that it was just the row we were sitting in and some rows were more intense then others. We said we knew it wasnt that because we had rode all the rows earlier in the week and again this day. He did confess that maintenance every so often does a ride through and aftwards decides if adjustments need to be made to the time rovers and this is probably what happened since Sunday. That they adjusted the hydraulic program on the rovers to make the ride more intense. An extremely intense it was.

I can see kids being scared... but adults? don't we all know it's in good fun and the dinosaurs aren't real :D

This is our favorite ride by the way!
