We are headed to Disney Feb 5-11, just booked the reservations...she told us we could call back and add the dinning plan (within 48 hrs) if we wanted to...we declined it at first. Do you think if we add it, will we still be able to get dinner at some of the nicer restaurants without reservations? Or is a reservation a must?

Thanks!!
Shelley

We've used the dining plan in the past and are doing so again for our upcoming trip in March. For us (two adults), it is wonderful as all of our meals are already paid for and we get a chance to try things that we usually woudln't try at Disney, due to the expense.
I think that it would be difficult to get into some of the more popular resturants without ADR's. I've made one ADR per day that we will be there, knowing that we can cancel them if we decide not to use them.

Have fun!

So if we decide to go with the plan, do you think as long as we called a day or two in advance, we could still get it?

And, is there a lot of choices on the list? What about Downtown Disney?

TIA
Shelley

Make your dinner ADRs/PS right now and see if you can get the restaraunts you want, if you do call and add the dining plan. I would say that yes reservations are a must with the dining plan. It is bad enough not being able to get in to any of the nicer restaraunts, now imagine dinner being PRE-payed and not being able to get in.

Agree! Call Disney Dining and tell them exactly what you are considering. Have them check some of your choices. They will make a reservation for you even if you haven't purchased the package yet. That may be your best bet.

BTW, you may get a CM who says you can't make an ADR without already having decided, but they are WRONG!! If you get someone like this, ask to be put on with someone else or just call back.

We LOVE the dining plan and wouldn't go without it. I say a resounding YES!
