Hi,

This will be my 2nd trip to SSR as a DVC member this year. Again i will be driving from NJ- but this time.. i booked a 1 night stay at the HH on the way there as a stop over rather than at daytona. My question is, I'll prbly get there in the evening- can anyone tell me what the dining situation is at HH. Are restaurant easily accessible and what's a decent place to eat.
thanks

I'd suggest you just stroll across the bridge to Scott's if you are feeling in the mood for fish - DH and I enjoyed the fish and chips platter immensely. There is also Kingfisher, 'tho we have not dined there. If in the mood for Italian, there is always Giuseppe's in the Shelter Cove plaza - you can also order take-out from there. There is always the prepared food section in the Piggly Wiggly grocery store in the plaza or burgers at Fudrucker's. There are other restaurants across the bridge from the resort as well as Scott's and Kingfisher - Bistro 17 is a new one, I think another is the Parrot Cafe, I forget the name of the mexican flare restaurant and at the end of the marina there is the Ocean Grille.

If you want to climb into the car for a short ride there are scads of restaurants in the area of the resort - DH and I sometimes enjoy going to Sticky Fingers for ribs - just can't get'em like that around our house.

If you are in the mood for breakfast when you leave in the morning, stop at Harold's on 278 a couple of blocks away from Shelter Cove - it's a hoot!

thanks... sounds like plenty of places within walkable distance. perfect

Within sight of the resort (right across the resort bridge at Shelter Cove) are the Kingfisher, Scott's Fishmarket, Little Venice, San Miguels and the Ocean Grille. Smaller options - also at Shelter Cove - are Le Bistro and Parrot Cove.

On the way to the beach house is Alexander's and at the nearby mall complex is Giuseppi's (pizza) and Fuddrucker's.

Have a great meal! :)

A vote for San Miguels if you like Mexican. If the weather is nice they have live music(acoustic guitar) outside and the food is pretty good.
