Hi Everyone,

Wondering if you can help me out make the most sense for dinner...

Arriving on Wednesday (12/8) around 5:05pm and staying at AK Kidani. Dinner Resv at GF Cafe at 7:10pm, 1st time dining there. MK closes at 8pm. Would we have enough time and enjoy dinner without having to worry about bussing it back to our hotel? We'll be a bit tired travelling from California with a 6am flight so we wanted to enjoy a nice meal upon arrival.
OR....would it be wise just to stay on site and have dinner either at BOMA or Sanaa?

TIA:flower3:

Depending on what time you get done with dinner you could possibly take the Monorail to Epcot Center and take a bus from there to AKL. If you can get a ADR for Sanaa or Boma and don't want the hassle of trying to make it back by bus to AKL then that is an option. Both are great restaurants. I am not sure how firm those park hours for MK are right now for December so keep checking to see what the updated hours are.

I personally would chose the keep it simple route and would just have dinner at one of the AKL restaurants for my arrival day but I happen to like the AKL restaurants (actually more than I liked the GF Cafe.)

You can probably get to MK post dinner to still catch a bus, but that is going to be a lot of time spent on transportation that day as opposed to just kicking back and relaxing at AKL.

Are you arriving at MCO or at AKL at 5:05?? If at AKL, then sure, eat at GF Cafe. For me, it would be a bit tiring but you may be different. BUT, if you'll be arriving at MCO at 5:05, not going to happen, period.

I would get rid of the GF Cafe ADR and eat at either AKL or at DTD. Actually, DTD isn't a bad idea. There are a bunch of different spots to eat at...I love Wolfgang Express in the Marketplace, as well as Rainforest Cafe. That way you can check in, get settled, freshen up and then head off to dinner...without having to worry about timing. Or, just eat at Boma and then back to the room for a good night's sleep.

That's what I was thinking. If your flight arrives at 5:05 there is no way you'll make it to the GF by 7:10.

Thanks for the advice...arriving at MCO at 5:05pm and likely doubting myself because most likely we will be tired. Not to mention that we are also travelling with a 3yo. My husband was also thinking of DTD so definitely an option, I'm gearing more to Sanaa since at this time, no ideal time for BOMA.

:thanks:

If you land, ontime, at 5:05, you should get to AKL around 6:15-6:30. The average time, from gate to resort, is about 70 mins, but it's wise to plan on 90 mins. And that is going to make getting to the GF for 7:10 almost impossible. You would have to leave as soon as you got to AKL, take the bus to MK then either boat or monorail over to GF, which can take almost 25 mins...not counting the bus ride or time spent waiting for the bus. Nope, not going to make it.
See, my issue would be with Sanaa...it does nothing for me. So, I would be on the DTD bus. But, many others really like it at Sanaa.
