Dinner - Spectromagic and Wishes

Hi Everyone:

I am heading to Disney with my DD, Mom and SIL on January 24. This will be my SIL's first trip to Disney!!! My mom is 79 years old, spry but tires easily. We are going to head straight to MK when we get there as this is the only night during our stay that Spectromagic and Wishes are on. Here's my question to you veteran planners. I need to make PS for dinner somewhere in MK, then find a spot to watch spectromagic and wishes. Any thoughts on timing for dinner, a good place for a sit down meal, and where to watch the events from? I was hoping to eat at the castle but it is closed for rennovations.

How about trying dinner at LTT. It's a character dinner, thanksgiving type food. Just be sure to give yourself plenty of time to eat then get a seat for Spectro/Wishes. You'll want to allow a good hr maybe even 75 minutes for your meal. Then a good 45 minutes before spectro to get seats. If you want to sit. During peak times you have to claim seats up to 60+ minutes in advance (some times).

For sit down you could also try the Crystal Palace which is a character meal too. Plus there are plenty of options at the monorail hotels which would make it easy to get to the MK after dinner.

I agree,Liberty Tree Tavern would be a good choice .Food is good,characters fun, and a nice setting. We like to watch Spectro in Liberty Square,so you wuold be right there. There are even rocking chairs on the porch that your MOm could relax in instead of standing.I would make a ps about 2 hrs. before Spectro.

We like to plan on eating dinner at the Plaza Restaurant (not the counter service Plaza Pavilion, but the restaurant at the end of Main Street) and then stake out a spot on the hub for Spectro and Wishes. We ate last time about two hours before the posted Spectro time, walked out, found our spot on the curb of the hub, and my SIL and I held the spot while DH and BIL took the kids to the Tomorrowland arcade. They returned about 20 minutes before the parade and we had an incredible view of the parade, Tinkerbell, and Wishes. We do like to sit on the Tomorrowland side of the hub so that we have Tinkerbell fly right near us. Hope that helps! Enjoy!!

I tried making LTT ressies for the same night, they had either 4 or 6pm which would be late for Spectro. I would try Plaza Rest. or Crystal Palace. If not there then Columbia Harbor House upstairs is a nice quiet place that has decent counter service food. See ya there!
