when do you find out what dinner rotation you have? i am going 7 night western what is the best dinner rotation and what dinner to be in a pirate night thanks

When you check in. It is on your KTTW card.

I think pirate night would be great in Parrot Cay, but it depends on your rotation. Pirate night is on Thursday.

We did the western and got the "APL" rotation. This rotation put us in Parrot Cay for Pirate Night, and in Lumiere's for formal and semi-formal nights :)

My family enjoys the second seating...dd10, dd8, ds6. Although it's later, we enjoy watching the shows at 6:30. I've also heard that early diners are somewhat rushed. I don't know that for a fact...just what I've read here. At the later seating, we always take our time and enjoy our servers. We averaged about 90 minutes for dinner.

Ok, I'm a little confused here...Rotation and seating are not the same...Rotation is the order in which you rotate through the three restaurants (Animator's Palette, Lumiere/Triton, Parrot Cay). Seating is main/early, or late....If this is not true then I hope someone will either bring me up to date or shoot me...Not nice to confuse old ladies...

I'm so sorry. It's late and the mind wonders. Simply forget everything I said. Erase it from your memory bank and chalk it up to lunacy.

Things to know about dinning - In order of importance
1) Seating: Main (6:00) or Late (8:30)
2) Rotation: Which dinning room that night. On the Magic the restaurants are: Lumiere's, Animator's Palate and Parrot Cay so the three rotations are LAPLAPL or APLAPLA or PLAPLAP and on the wonder the restaurants are: Tritons's, Animator's Palate and Parrot Cay so the three rotations are TAP or APT or PTA. If you are on the 4 night cruise DCL just changed to having the first 2 nights in the same restaurant (ie. TTAP, AAPT and PPTA) BEFORE Pirates Night the rotation on the 4 nighter was TAPT, APTA and PTAP.
3) Table Number: (same table number in all of the dinning rooms)
4) Your Serving Team: they will be with you for all of your rotational dinning
5) Your Tablemates: Most families will share a table with other families. They will be with you for dinner in all of the rotational dinning rooms (so get to know them - you have 3 to 7 nights to make new friends)

Just a heads up - we were recently on a 7-night Western and Pirate night was on Wednesday - the day we were in Cozumel. Thursday was a day at sea and was semi-formal night. You may want to verify that things are still the same if you want to request a specific rotation.

We were in Parrot Cay on Pirate night - it was the best of the three restaurants for that type of event in my opinion because it's much more informal (very bright and tropical - the pirate theme works well here).

Have fun!!

I just had Parrot Cay on our Pirate Night on the Wonder and it worked out great and made it more festive. Yes you don't find out your rotation until you get into your room.

Not exactly, as long as you are on cruise only (not land/sea package) your rotation will be noted on your KTTW card that you get at checkin. There will be dining tickets on your desk in your cabin that you can bring with you the first evening....or just remember your table number so the CM's at the entrance to the dining room can escort you to your table.

Is there anyway to request a certain rotation??
If so how do you go about doing this??

Thanks.

As far as I know there is no way to request a rotation.....nor can I imagine a reason to request one.

So on the 4 day Wonder is there a better rotation than another? Or it doesn't matter. Does the 4 day have a Pirate Night?

I have the same question as Jack. To have Pirate Night on the 4-day Wonder in Parrot Cay, do you ask for the APLA rotation?

With the new rotations on the 4 day I believe that you would want the PPLA rotation.

Pirate's night..hmmmm.. Is this available on a 3 night wonder cruise scheduled for april..Lee :wave2: .

Correct. We just returned from our 4 day Wonder cruise (2/6/05) and we had the PPLA rotation. Pirate night is Monday (Nassau).

Note however our KTTW card, along with just about everyone else, was wrong. It showed a PLAP rotation. You repeat the first dining room two nights in a row.

I am sure that this question has been posted somewhere else by someone else so I will ask for forgiveness now.

:confused3

Could someone clear up a little confusion for me?

On the 4 day, we have dinner in the 3 different places, 2 of which are casual, then we have 1 in more of a formal setting?

Am I really of base with this one?

Thankful.

I can! We're going on a 3 night cruise and I would love to have Pirate night at Parrot Cay rather than at Triton's. As a single mom I don't get out much and I'm really looking forward to the opportunity to dress up a bit. And after hearing about it all these years, I'd love to experience the "animation" effect at Animator's Palate. So, that's my reason to want to request one.

That is correct. 2= Parrot Cay & Animators Palate 1=Triton's

I wore a button down shirt and dress slacks to all three dining rooms and that pretty much seemed the norm with everyone else too. I did not look out of place by any means. Although, there were some people dressed up in Triton's but I think most of that was for the photo ops before/after dinner.
