Dinner Rotation

Is there anyway to know what are dinner rotation will be before we board the ship?

Yes, you will know before you board the ship, when you check in at the terminal your dining rotation will be on your key to the world card.

I believe I've read here that you can request a rotation when/if you do the REAS (romantic escape at sea add-on) package. Can anyone confirm that?

You can request a specific rotation, but it is not guaranteed you will get it. We had REAS and requested APL, and ended up with LAP. If that's the worst of my problems, things ain't too bad.

Other comments I read said to pack a set of dinner clothes in your carry-on. So if you do not know what rotation, how would you know to pack a shirt/tie and dressier clothes for that evening?

Even in Lumiers, you don't need a jacket and tie. We saw many people underdressed - even though we enjoyed getting dressed up. Simply put - I would not worry about not having proper attire for the first night, no matter what restaurant you are in. It would be understood on the first night.

You really don't need dinner clothing in your carry ons. In 10 cruises, we have always had our luggage by 5 pm (although they won't promise that). If you haven't received your luggage, don't worry about dinner clothing--walk into the restaurant with your head high and tell the head server that your luggage hasn't arrived yet. They will fall all over themselves with apologizing to you! It isn't worth the effort of lugging dinner clothes around all day.

If you have late dinner, your clothing will definitely be there in time.

As to rotation, it is on your KTTW card. You can request if you have a preference. You can go to "dining changes" after you board if you didn't get what you wanted. And, in the long run...it really doesn't matter. It is "fun" to be in Lumiere's on formal night and Parrot on tropical night, but it really doesn't matter.
