Hey budgeters! :)

So I'm taking the dinner rolls for Thanksgiving dinner, and a couple other things, so want to find the best while watching my budget :thumbsup2
I need 60 rolls, at least.
What are the best budget rolls that are also tasty? Is it more cost effective to make them (like Pillsbury in the tube) or buy them? (no, I won't make them from scratch LOL)

TIA!!

Go to your local bakery or grocery store and order them.

We use Rhodes or Sister Schuberts frozen rolls. You just take them right from the package and put them on a cookie sheet and bake for 6-8 mins. Both are very good and in the freezer bread section. Pretty well all the stores around here have them.

This is what we use too. They are pretty cost effective and taste pretty good too!

We always get the Pillsbury Crossaints. I get a 4 pack of the tubes at BJs for around $7 or $8. and there are 8 crossaints in each tube.

We use Rhodes frozen rolls. To make them taste really good (not diet friendly in anyway shape or form) roll them in melted butter before baking.

I already got my Sister Schuberts 30 ct for Thanksgiving.

These are def the best price for a nice size, hearty roll. It's not just all air fluff, it's a real roll.

My guys (DH and DS) like the fluffy air rolls - the Brown N Serve ones. Those are the ones I always buy. And I have noticed at every family holiday get-together, they always go quickly!

We buy our rolls at the Costco bakery, I think we pay around $5 for like 30-40.

Costco has 36 rolls in the bakery for 3.99 or 4.99. We also like the Sister Schubert's rolls if you have oven space.

We always buy the Sister Schuberts from Sams and keep the bag in our freezer and pull out a few at a time for dinner. I think they would be your best bet for an inexpensive delicious roll for Thanksgiving dinner :goodvibes

Are you sure you don't want to make them from scratch? Basic dinner rolls take no skill at all and are very quick to make! They would be very inexpensive to make and taste so much better fresh.

I like making clover rolls to bring to Thanksgiving meals because they're cute and pull apart nicely to add butter...but you could do a basic roll shape.

If you really want store-bought, I guess go with the "brown-n-serve" type...I think Rhode's rolls are that type. I'd vote for Costco rolls actually if they're in your area, although I haven't personally tried them before. Costco usually has excellent tasting baked goods, though.

If you have a Kroger near you they have the big dinner rolls for the holidays and they are usually $1 a package. They are really good and better than most rolls you can buy for cheap. I think there are 12 in a package. They are usually in the bread isle on pallets. They look more like clover leaf rolls.

Personally, I've always thought the brown & serve rolls are pretty tasty and cheap. If you have an Aldi near you, they're typically around 99 cents a dozen. Walmart has them too, but they're around $1.35 (in Alabama).
