Dinner Reservations?

Hi Everyone,

Now let me start by saying that I do not understand the DDP and don't really need to as we will not be using it. We are staying on International Drive and our holiday will be more centred around Seaworld/Universal/Discovery Cove than WDW itself. Having said that we will be going to Disney and I very much like the look of some of the restaraunts at DTD.

SO my actual question is do you think we should make dining reservations at DTD and is this even possible for those staying offsite and not part of this Dining Plan malarky?

I notice that lots of posters here are making advanced reservations and as it will be a bit of a trek for us to get to WDW (public transport - boo) or the expense of a Taxi I would hate to be disappointed on the day by not getting into our chosen eatery!

Don't worry, you don't need to be on the DDP or staying at Disney to make reservations. Just call Disney 180 days or less from the date you want to eat. :thumbsup2

If you cant find a cheaper way to do it, phone Disney for the reservations using the Telediscount access numbers :)

1p a minute for calls to the US. The access number is 08444623232, then listen to the message and when prompted, dial the full number (including international dialling code) that you need to phone Disney reservations is 001 407 939 3463 (001 407 WDW DINE).

Thanks very much for the info - thats really helpful :thumbsup2

Do you think it will be necessary to book in September?

Whilst September is usually a quiet time of year to go to WDW I think it's going to be pretty busy this year;)
I would book which meals you really want to do at the 180 day mark.

I doubt it will be necessary to book, but as you've said you'll be disappointed if you don't get into your chosen eateries, I wouldn't want to take the chance. We book as few ADRs as possible, because we prefer the flexibility of not having too much cast in stone. However, there are some meals each trip which are events in themselves and we make sure we book those we're really keen to do.
