Hi everyone

It is our 10th anniversary in August- we got married at the Wedding Pavilion August 2001. We want to do something special on our anniversary evening- a meal followed by Wishes or Illuminations preferably. We have heard mixed reviews on the Grand Gatherings International dinner, not everyone says positive things about the entertainment and buffet.

Does anyone have any other suggestions or ideas of what I could book to celebrate our anniversary in style? We are a group of 23 from age 5- 67. We will be staying at SSR and will have free dining but are happy to pay OOP for something.

Is there a special events or group booking line I can call for help?

Thanks so much for any help you can offer me.

Mandy :)

If you're willing to spend some money to celebrate, call California Grill and see if you can book the private room that has a terrific view of the fireworks. The room will seat around 50, so I'm not sure if they will book it for 23, but if they will, it will be a wonderful dinner -- with a perfect window view of the fireworks. By the way, the room I speak of is not the wine room. It is a separate private room with a lovely view of the fireworks. It's where they hold the signature dinners during the F&W Festival.

Contact the WDW Main Switchboard at 407-824-2222 and ask for Resort Catering Sales. Talk to them. Since you will be a group staying at a Disney Resort you would be able to get the special IllumiNations Dessert Party.

There are severals areas, one of the most common is the French Island (on the lagoon side of France. There is a charge for the space itself (that area is about $200) and there is a charge of about $75 for them to put in cocktail tables and lots of chairs. Then for about $25 per person (minimum of 20 people)they will set up your own dessert buffet that will run from about 8:00 unmtil 9:30.

Each of the areas will hold over 100 people so you will not be crowded, it will be right at the water so you will have an unobstructed view, and your group will be the only people there.

So with 23 people you are talking about around $12 per person for the space and furniture plus at least $25 per person for the food and beverages (plus gratuities and tax).
