I know that the reviews for the dinner buffet at HIFS haven't been that hot, but I want to know how much they charge for dinner.

Thanks!

We went in April and took advantage of the FLA. State Lottery Promo which included Breakfast and Dinner free with the room rate room
otherwise a $10 addition per room for Supper buffet. It depends on how tired and late you return from the Parks, and how hungry or thursty you are. We used three out of four vouchers. We only paid for the Adults so the kids eat light and had deserts, each nights had a different menu.
ENJOY!!! :D

We booked the meal plan atleast one day before arrival therefore you are locked in for the additional cost, NOT refundable!:smooth:

I was there Spring Break 2001 Mar.22-25 Peak Season. But at that time,I remember the Dinner Buffet was $15.99 per person.
WE ate at the A&W But mostly bought packaged foods from their gift shop, Which was better than the A&W food at that time.

We were at HIFS the beginning of March and ate at the buffet one night. It was in my opinion standard buffet food - nothing great but nothing bad. I don't know what other people expect at buffets but this was adequate and actually pretty tasty. It was also VERY welcome after walking the parks all day. Our DD who is 4 actually found food she liked - plain noodles (no sauce).

With the ages of your kids I wouldn't rule it out. At buffets you don't have to wait for your food and the kids can eat NOW! Definitely a plus in our book! Have a great trip!

Thanks everyone!

I thought it would be nice to eat at the HIFS at least one night. No driving out for dinner, and the kids eat free! :)

We are staying here for two nights of our stay using the playfla lottery $109 rate. We have stayed here each year since their opening but have never eaten the dinner buffet. Since the special includes the buffet I was wondering if someone could tell me what was served?

Have stayed there twice. the buffet both times was just ok - Like your basic ponderosa buffet. What was great was the room service - about average price for room service - but the food was excellent! and delivered in about 30 minutes. Worked out terrific for us. Split one meal between my two 5 year olds and still have left overs to heat up the next night.

We did not like the dinner buffet :(. But that was 2 years ago and things may have changed since then. We did like the A & W and Pizza Hut for lunch. We got food from there one day at 4 p.m. (early dinner) and it only cost $9.00 for my family of 6!!!! Kids eat free until 5:00, and it was up to 4 kids meals free! They may have changed that since I was there!

Another day we had lunch on the Veranda. That was very good. Kids ate free there also. They had great club sandwiches, french dip etc.

Just FYI, I was told yesterday by the Holiday Inn Family Suites that the lottery promotion (Family Values package that includes dinner for $109) is supposed to be for locals, i.e. Florida residents.

Just didn't want anyone to show up at check-in and be disappointed!

I wonder why no one told me that when I made my reservations?? They obviously know I am a NY resident.

I live in Virginia and was not told this when making the reservation. I will call and confirm.

We have stayed at HIFS twice-the last being in May and had the Family Values promo-2 adult dinner buffets were included in each night we stayed. DH and I both agreed that the food was ok, but I wouldn't have paid that much for what they had to offer. I think the cost was $13 or $14 and on Friday's it's $18-seafood. On Friday's they serve crab legs and shrimp-so if you like those it's worth it-otherwise I'd order off the regular menu and let the kids eat at the buffet. The breakfast buffet is ok too, DH didn't care for the eggs and I could have used some of my french toast to drive nails into a wall, but it was hot, there was plenty to choose from, it was convenient and included in the price. That being said, I'd stay at HIFS again without hesitation and am currently trying to convince DH to go down again this fall for a few days-so send all your pixie dust my way!!!

I also made reservations over a month ago using the "Play Florida USA". We gave our address and were not told it was only for certain people. It also does not state this on the website. Maybe they are having too many people book and are not taking any new reservations. I will be staying in October and will certainly raise a stink if they do not honor my reservations.

I just went back to the lottery site a re-read. here is all it says.

I have reservations at HIFS the last week of June 2002. I called and they told me that this offer is open to everyone, not just Florida residents. You just have to make sure you have your Florida USA scratch off ticket. It has to be that ticket and not the other scratch off ticket. That might be where the confusion is.

It will be my first time to WDW, so my family and I are getting more and more excited. It's a big trip for us as we are traveling from California and haven't had a big vacation in three years.
