So we're planning to use the Disney kids club for a night so DH and I can have a night to ourselves. We are staying at Beach club and I know there is a kids club onsite. I am wondering if anyone has recommendations on where we can have our dinner? I'm a little paranoid to leave the resort where DD will be so we could eat at Beaches and Cream or Cape May Dinner. But I've been toying with taking the boat from the resort to Disney Springs but not sure where to eat. Is it really that far from the resort?

Alternatively we could do it on an Epcot day and then just go back to Epcot to try one of the restaurants there. What's your best idea based on proximity to Beach Club and quality of food/nice atmosphere? Otherwise our meals for the vacation will be Character buffet and QS.

OR we could take her over to the Poly and eat at 'Ohana or Trader Sams (filling up on bar snacks). DH and I are moderate eaters unless we're starving.

I heard there's a flat fee now for these clubs and they feed the kids dinner? Is that correct? Do they give you a pager or something?

TIA

You can't take the boat from BC to DS. The boat at BC only stops there (along with YC), BWI, S&D, EPCOT and DHS. The boat that goes to DS runs out of POR, POFQ and SSR. You'd have to take a bus to DS from BC.

What sort of budget are you working with? When are you going?

You could walk or boat over to the Swan and Dolphin, which have some really great adult restaurants.

My kids were too young for Kids Club last time, but we used Kids Nite Out and I liked being close to the room. We stayed at BCV and went to dinner at the Yachtsman. I've also had great meals at Captain's Grille and I'm now obsessed with the Crew Cup lounge since my last trip.

The bus back from Disney Springs takes FOREVER and if you need to get back quickly, you're kinda stuck over there.

We are hoping to do the same for our next trip and I'm debating between Yachtsman and The Boathouse!

Can anyone tell me more about Kids Club? Is it only at certain resorts and do you have to be staying there to utilize it? Thanks!

As PP noted the boat to Disney Springs does not go from the BC. They are not connected. At the BCV you have a huge choice in nearby restaurants within walking distance. You have all the restaurants at the Yacht and Beach Club, you have all the restaurants at the Swan & Dolphin (not on DDP), you have all the restaurants at the Boardwalk and all of Epcot WS/
I agree with PP --- What is your budget. Recommendations will depend on that
Yes dinner is included in the fee for the Kids Club

Yes the Kids Clubs are only at certain resorts. No you do not need to be staying there to utilize there service. I would make a reservation in advance.

Awesome, thanks! I'll check it out!

I agree, it takes a while via bus, but if an emergency arose and you needed to get back quickly, you can always cab. It's a quick shot back to BC...about 3 miles.

We have done most of the kids clubs...like them all! My suggestion would be to take the child to the Cub's Den at Wilderness Lodge and grab a seat at the Territory Lounge for some snacks, good drinks, and calm atmosphere. Or, drop her off at Simba's at AKL and hit the pool bar and either Boma or Jiko. We have done both of these options (WL and AKL) and we always have a great time!

There are a few kids clubs around. Last trip we stayed at Poly and put the kids (6 & 8) in Lilo's Playhouse for an evening. When you drop them off, you help the child choose what they would like to have for dinner. The CM also take some info (phone number, emergency contact, allergy info, where you will be and approximate time of pick-up). The fee at Lilo's was a set fee of $55 per child from 4:30 - midnight. My kids had a blast! The kids told me they played games, made cookies, and got to meet Chip and Dale. They each came home with a goodie bag. They were disappointed that we picked them up around 9:30, they had wanted to stay later. They loved it so much that they requested a kids night at Lilo's on our next trip..... Works for me!!

My DS loves Sandcastle Club! Since you are staying at BC, it's so convenient.

I would recommend walking over to Swan/Dolphin and trying bluezoo (our favorite), Il Mulino or Kimonos (if you like sushi). In fact, there is s kids club at the Dolphin called Club Dolphin and, if you bring your Swan/Dolphin restaurant dinner receipt, you get 2 hours of free club time for your child. It would make it much cheaper than Sandcastle Club.

Another restaurant in the area we like is Trattoria al Forno at the Boardwalk.

Going on your EP day is a great idea too! Spice Road Table, Monsieur Paul, Chefs, Rose and Crown and Le Cellier are all fairly close to BC.

I enjoyed Yachtsman's at YC. It would make a nice "date night" and is just a short walk from BC.

I agree with yachtsman it's right next door and it's a place that consistently gets good reviews.

Thanks all! We're not big steak house people and our budget is moderate (less than $30 pp for entree). I think Kimonos might work out and maybe we'll use the kids club onsite at Club Dolphin. I believe BC charges $55 flat rate like Lilos and my daughter is in bed by 9pm at the latest. So Dolphin might be more economical as well.

I agree with Yachtsman's as well, or one of the Swan/Dolphin restaurant. But the OP hasn't answered the budget question. Those are all expensive. What are they looking for.

Unfortunately I think Kimmonos is not one of the places that qualify for the free 2 hours at Camp Dolphin. I think Blue Zoo, Shula's and Il Mulino do.

I would look at Captains Grille, maybe Trattoria Al Forno on the Boardwalk or an Epcot rest. that you would enjoy.

The seafood buffet at Cape May is great, but the atmosphere is missing something date like--we've only done breakfast, but Captain's Grille might be a better fit for adults only.

I think Il Mulino might fit the bill at Dolphin, or if we're not too hungry head over to Crew Cup Lounge. We also were thinking of going to the Poly so she can go to Lilo's and we can hang at Trader Sams.
