we are in the 50 bracket( ugg) & we loved brown derby for good food and a nice peaceful atmosphere although the parks were slow when we were there so on busy days might not be so peaceful.
ohana was good food but we felt geared more toward younger families and kind of expensive unless you eat a lot which we don't. if you like to join in there were some adult activities but mostly kids races.
we like Trail's end for a more casual meal and like to unwind on the porch or beach ( hammocks!) and watch the water parade from there afterwards since it is much different/calmer atmosphere than the parks and i start to need that after a few disney days.
we also loved wolfgang puck's... got (excellent) pizza there last trip so plan on the sit down rest. next trip which is close to pleasure island/dtd if you like that
we also love to "sample" from the different carry out places for dinner as we walk around epcot..so much to try it would be impossible if you had a full meal at each place!
I think one great thing about WDW is that there is no "wrong" place to eat.
You can go as formal or relaxed as you would like. You can be a kid again while enjoying breakfast at Chef Mickeys with the characters. You can have a silly fun night at Hoop-dee-do or you can have a great sit down dinner in France.
As a parent of 5, still young children, I can only imagine the fun your parents will have beign at WDW with all their children. Wising you a time
I would plan the restaurant, by what type of food/experience you are looking for. There are many great restaurants at disney, and then there are the ones with more atmosphere..and people just put up with the food...so, check out wdwig.com for sample menus around the world.
if y'all are adventurous eaters, i would recommend jiko at AKL. very very good. and a great way to see the lodge. also, another vote for artist point. fabulous!
