dinner dress code

we will be going on our first cruise, a 3 nighter, 12/2/04 on the Wonder. was just wondering what type of clothes we should bring for our dinners. How formal is "formal" night, and what should we expect on the other nights. Thanks

You will see all kinds of clothing at dinner on your cruise. Although, on a 3-night cruise I don't think there is really a "formal" night. DH and I have been on 2 7-night Disney cruises and we did take formal (dark suit for DH, dressy pants outfit and a long dress for me) clothes on those. But our last cruise was a 4-night Wonder and we did not take formal clothes. DH wore khaki slacks and either short-sleeve button up, or Polo shirts to dinner and I wore either a sundress or slacks and blouse. We felt fine. Many others were dressed in the same manner. We actually saw very few suits and long dresses on the Wonder.

Last year I had suit and tie for Tritons and Palo, DW wore dresses. This week I am doing just a sport coat and tie at Triton's ( probably pants also), may or may not wear it at the other restaurants, but have the dress shirts if I want them. DW has more casual dresses and pantsuits.

Some people were pretty well dressed up last year, but with baby and in-laws this time we aren't going to go all out.

It seemed that if you wanted to get all gussied up there were enough others doing it but a lot seemed to take the bit more casual approach.


Forgot to add- Princess dresses are always acceptible.

How formal is "formal" night, and what should we expect on the other nights.

As a general rule, I use the following:

Formal Night: Wear what you would wear to a wedding (of someone you like!).

Semi-Formal: Wear what you would to church

Other nights: Wear what you would to a nice restaurant.
