I am going in January my first time on the DD plan as well and I am going to:

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall (Character meal: Princesses)
Coral Reef Restaurant
Biergarten
Chef Mickey’s (Character)
The Crystal Palace (Character)
The Garden Grill (Character)
Grand Floridian Café (1900 Park Fare in GF is also a Character)

I came to these choices from my cousins who go to Disney every year (sometimes twice a year) with their 11, 9 and 4 year old. They told me that The Crystal Palace was the best buffet in Disney according to them so I will see. They told me Chef Mickeys was a must but they also like CRT. We are not trying it this year but we are going to try to make Disney a once a year thing too so there is always next year!! I also looked on different sites to read the reviews of restaurants. I was back and forth about different ones but the reviews really helped!! I am going with a 2 year old and a 1 year old so we choose a lot of buffets for them really because there will be a variety of food. Hope it helps!! :cool1:

I forgot to say where I got the reviews I looked at. I went to allears.net I then went to rate and review and picked my choices from there. They also offer menus so you can see what they offer at the restaurants to see if it would be the right choices for your family. Good luck and have a magical trip!!

It kind of depends on a couple things.....where you are staying, where you will be for each day, buffets vs. menu, characters yes or no....etc.

We took all of this into account and here is what we are doing for Dec.

Tutto Italia Dinner (Candlelight Processional)
Crystal Palace Breakfast
Hollywood & Vine Dinner (Fantasmic)
Le Cellier Dinner (Candlelight Processional)
Grand Floridian Cafe Dinner
Biergarten Dinner
Chef Mickeys Dinner
Cape May Cafe Breakfast

We also really like Kona Cafe, Garden Grill, Liberty Tree Tavern Lunch, Coral Reef...and a bunch of other places.

Hi, if you want to try a character meal, maybe Chef Mickeys or Cape May Cafe (breakfast) was really nice!
For a table service meal, we really enjoyed Spoodles (on the Boardwalk), Boma's and if you would like to try a signature restaurant then I would suggest either Jiko's or California Grill.
In MK Cinderella's Table might be a good choice with a 6 year old, but you have to use 2 credits, or Crystal Palace with Winnie the Pooh might be fun!
