Just curious what most women wear for Dinner on the Magic on nights other than Formal/Semi-Formal? We are less than 20 days out now so I need to get packing! ;)

I know jeans and shorts are a no-no... would capris be acceptable?

Thanks!!!

I wore capris and a nice plain t-shirt or regular shirt. It makes it much easier to pack only a couple pairs of pants and more shirts, that way you can get away with wearing the same pair a couple times. I always changed back into shorts right after dinner was over.... There were very few people very dressed at dinner when I was onboard.

Capri sets are fine and I saw many ladies wearing them. Also slacks and coordinating tops. The request "resort casual" so it's not a big deal.

I guess I am of the 'old school', but semi or formal nights to me don't mean capris unless they are part of a suit (silk type) and are of a dressier nature. I don't care what most others wear, I just think that the designation of 'dress' implies something more than you might ordinarily wear. I don't imagine you would be looked down upon at all, I just think that a little 'spiffier' is in order as it honors the cruise lines request of the semi or formal designation of dress request. (personal opinion)

ppiew, no way would I wear Capris on Semi Formal or Formal nights, but I believe the OP was asking about other than formal and semi formal nights. On those nights I think a nice Capri set is fine.

Hey Angie, we're on your cruise 1/15/04. Sandy said she brought way too many dress clothes on our last cruise. Sandy said it's Capris for her on all the other nights...Mark

Hi Angie, we are on the same cruise as well. I was going to bring mostly dress clothes. I only own one pair of capris but I will be sure to bring them now that I have seen this thread.

Guess I missed the 'other than' - sorry!
It just kind of bugs me when (on formal/semi nites) of cruises when you see t-shirts etc. Just kind of seems disrespectful of both the cruise line and of the other guests whom have made the effort.
No intent to flame anyone.

I'll second the "bug" that some cruisers don't respect the dressing suggestions for formal and semiformal nights. Those folks will get the same great service but I often wonder if they don't miss out on some of the fun and expectation of the cruise. It's not SUPPOSED to be just like McDonalds at home.
