Dinner at the Castle - New Policy?

I just called Disney to make an ADR for dinner at the castle - I was told by the CM that the policy had changed that the dinner at the castle was now a fixed price dinner $39.99 per person and that you had to pre-pay with a credit card and that if you did not cancel 24 hours in advance your credit card would not be refunded. Is this new? This is news to me. aw:

Yep, this is new. It starts for all ADRs beginning Feb 1.

Also, you don't need a CC for all ADRs.... You do for dinner shows, California Grill, CRT, I believe the fantasmic Pkgs.... Not sure what else but we didn't need it for the majority of our ADRs.

Did they tell you what dinner includes. i know I can stillget prime rib but i want to know what the fixed appetizer and dessert are.

Also, if you are on the dining plan castle meals will be two table service credits effective feb 1 (the reservation person I spoke with said this was for all the meals in the castle).

I was so shocked at what she was telling me that I didn't even bother to ask what the dinner included.
