I went to the Disney web site and looked at the menu for dinner at 'Ohana and there is nothing on it my daughter will eat. She will be eating there during cheer week for a team dinner. Is it possible for her to get chicken fingers and french fries?

Unless they are on the menu, it is highly unlikely that they will be able to accommodate. And based on the menu for breakfast and for dinner, there is no way they would even have a fryer. She either needs to learn how to try other food or just sit and eat nothing, then eat before or after.

Yep! They will bring out chicken fingers and French fries by the truckload for picky kids. Ohana is one of my favorites....enjoy!

You still pay the full price, but picky eaters can get chicken fingers, fries, mac & cheese, etc because they can get these things from the Kona kitchen.

confirming what others have said, they are good to picky kids there. My son likes the steak but nothing else and they bring him a massive bowl of mac and cheese to go with the steak. He also loves the brownie cupcake they have for kids there, along with bread pudding of course.

We went there in April and our younger daughter is maddeningly picky. They made her a big batch of the noodles plain and she loved them! They also gave her a huge bowl of ice cream at the end. Our server was so cheerful about it and seemed genuinely happy when we told him she liked them. I really appreciated them catering to her so nicely. And it took a lot of stress off of us. It was our favorite dining experience in the three trips we’ve taken with our kids.

I know ‘Ohana has a reputation as being hit-or-miss but we loved it almost based upon them being so cheerfully accommodating.

Lots of options available for picky eaters -- chicken fingers, hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese, fries and mac and cheese. 'Ohana has always been pretty hugely accommodating for picky eaters.

perfect time to break them from a bad habit. I would take the position of "eat this, or be hungry". Sooner or later, the child will get hungry enough to eat on your terms, not theirs.

and my flame suit is on and well insulated. "picky eaters" are made, not born.

They did this for my picky eater and brought her one of each cupcake from next door from Kona for her dessert. It is quite high to pay for chicken fingers but we loved our dinner and are glad we went. Enjoy!

yes they bring from Kona but you will still pay the ohana price even if child only eats the kona food and this s true for a Disney adult also

There are tons of reports of people getting chicken fingers, mac and cheese, etc. It's not a big deal.

Not even worth arguing. I've found people with this attitude are completely close minded to anything but their opinion.

I am looking forward to Ohana (just got my free dining so may be insanely difficult to get reservations). I have heard that they are super good with allergies, which isn’t kinda like fussy eating. Ironically, this is also the only restaurant I see a potential problem with- my dd has a banana allergy and she is going to be sad when she can’t eat the fancy dessert. But if she gets a fancy cupcake, one that no one else is getting, she will be happy.

On the subject of picky eaters, there is a lot of evidence that genetics affects taste. So there is one mutation that makes cilantro taste like soap. So, when you say oh, quit being so picky, it is very possible that it tastes very different to them then to you and if it tasted that way to you, you would never eat it.

Nobody here needs to be insulting anybody else, or determining what can and can't be said in a thread, except the board Moderators.

don't read posts you don't like.

And you are welcome to do just this. I choose to find ways to make my entire family happy while on vacations and would never force anyone, not even a child, to go hungry because he or she did not like or could not eat, what is indeed an unconventional menu.

the OP didn't ask for parenting advice, she asked for what the deal was at a particular restaurant.

I'm sure there are places on the internet where your opinion is appreciated and appropriate, but that spot is not here.

Here is for talking about issues related to Disney dining. Take your flame suit off and stop trying to pick a fight with someone.

Agreed.

OP- my girls did not like the food at 'Ohana, and while we never asked for accomodations, the server brough an assortment of items for them to eat. Chicken tenders, mac and cheese, and fries, IIRC. I woudl have no problems asking if there was something that your child would like. The price is the same, but the kid is fed. LOL!
