We have reservations for the Dinner buffet at Norway for the Candlelight P. Has anyone eaten here before? How's the food?

I've eaten there for lunch and really enjoyed it. DH thought it was just OK. There is a lot of seafood - smoked salmon, smoked mackerel, herrings, shrimp, shrimp salad, baked fish etc. which I love (DH doesn't). They also had a good selection of salads, cold sliced meat (roast beef, turkey, etc.) and cheeses. Hot foods included things like venison stew, meat balls, roasted pork loin, pasta with ham and cheese.

The atmosphere is pretty neat - castle like. The CMs are some of the friendliest I've met. Quite attractive too.;)

We've had lunch there before - and no doubt will again on our upcoming trip. DH and I really enjoyed the food there, it's excellent value, which is something you can't always say about Disney restaurants! We were very impressed by the range of food available (particularly as I don't eat meat) and we also had excellent service! :D

We loved lunch so much we went back for diiner - and it was even better!

We just had dinner there Friday night. All the foods mentioned already were there, along with some chef's specials for the night. The foodis always fresh there, and the variety has enough to please anyone. One of the side dishes is mashed rutabaga..sounds a little gross but is really good. It is a really nice atmosphere too, and the servers are very happy to walk you through the buffet and expalin everything. This was our 3rd time eating there, so you can tell we really like it.

We ate there twice on our last trip and twice last week. The food is excellent and the service is usually fantastic. This past visit the first night we went there our server was horrible. We waited for 15 minutes, she never took us up to the buffet-just said you can go get your food, and then ignored us for the rest of our meal. When it came time to get our check she never showed us the dessert tray just dumped our check on us and said nothing! I could have understood had it been busy but it was dead! I was crushed, most of this food and the atmosphere are all things that remind me of my childhood. That warm fuzzy feeling. Anyhow, hubby made up for it by surprising me with a piece of jewelry when we were done eating! I did complain a few days later when we went there for lunch and they apologized profusely. Enjoy the food is wonderful! We will go back just not have her for a server!

So many people love this buffet that I hate to say we did not like it. It had to many strange foods, pickled fish, turnips, etc. If you are adventurous with foods you should be fine.

I'm in the group that does not care for this restaurant at all. When we went there a few years ago, the atmosphere and service were great, but the food just didn't appeal to us.

However, as others have pointed out, with a lot of WDW restaurants (and particularly the more exotic World Showcase places), you really just have to try it for yourself to find out if you like it. Reviews and opinions just can't answer the question for you.

Our family is loike traditional, Midwest food and the beef/veal, meats, & potoatoes were more like comfort food than exotic choices. We also loved the shrimp, which is definitely not a daily item her in the Midwest cornbelt!
