Me and my sweetie are taking my son to the Polynesian Resort to the Neverland Club for an evening on our upcoming trip, for some adult time alone.
Our plan is to drop my son off there in the evening, then take the monorail over to Epcot for dinner and the fireworks. What are your suggestions? We don't want to spend more than $50 per person for the dinner. If you were in our shoes, what would your plan be?

I'd suggest Chefs de France. It's delicious, cozy, and in your price range.

yes, I would pick France as well....romantic and decently priced, and delicious food. The bakery is great for dessert as well yum!!
Just don't go to Morroco for dinner....my husband and I went there for lunch and ordered the lamb combo....much later that evening, about 1 am, we were both praying to the toilet gods, and this lasted for 2 days straight....Imagine, we had to get an extra night at the Dolphin just so we could sleep and throw up....we were soooooo sick we couldn't move out of bed, much less drive. Have never had any other problems with any restaurants there....Another cool restaurant is the one in Japan that overlooks the lake....it's on the 2nd floor, and you can order Sushi and full meals. Decently priced, too!

Sorry to disagree - but Morocco is our family favorite - great food and awesome entertainment. Plus the service was fantastic. My very close second is Le Cellier. Their filet with risotto is absolutely delicious!

In our opinion, the best restaurant in Epcot is Le Cellier. Unfortunately, you WILL blow your $50pp budget if you order drinks. A more affordable but excellent 2nd choice would be The San Angel Inn.

Buon apetito!

Les Chefs is loud, bustling and busy - and the food is somewhat bland and boring. I wouldn't go there, unless you like lost of noise/activity and plain, unseasoned food.
You could EASILY spend the full $50 pp there if you ordered drinks/wine.
Desserts are better at the Patisserie than in the restaurant, btw.

I agree! Chefs was our favorite meal of the trip! If you want to see Illuminations, you can see it from here. Our ADR was for 7:50pm and we got our dessert just as it was starting, it was really great.

We always wanted to eat at the Coral Reef and finally did it on the last trip. It was quite cold where our seats were located. We had a great view seat next to the tank, but the people near us let their children practically climb over us to see the fish during most of our meal.

If you like spicy food, it was good. If not, you'll hate it.
Both of us were very disappointed and won't be going there again.

Nothing beats a 7:30 ADR at the Rose and Crown to end a night at Epcot. The food is good and the view of Illuminations is unbeatable! We've never had a problem getting a table outside so that we could watch the display at 9. Make sure you try out the cheese plate, which is superior to the one at Les Chefs de France by the way!

Coral Reef!! This food was amazing and we loved the atmosphere!

We had a surprisingly good meal at the Coral Reef a couple of weeks ago. (In the past, I'd thought the atmosphere was better than the food.) On the other hand, it is GREAT for children if they have any interest at all in fish. It is our DS's favorite place, and has been since he was 2. My family is not alone in feeling this way... there are always lots of children in the restaurant.

For romantic... I would say Bistro de Paris. It is the quiet restaurant above Chefs de France. It is possible to eat there for under $50 a person if you are careful about what you order, and I think it is some of the best food in WDW.

We also like the restaurant in Morocco, if you're willing to be adventurous. I had never eaten anything Moroccan the first time we tried it, and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

Ok Here are my 4 fav.. I can't just pick one.

Le Celier
Coral Reef
Tutto Italia
Chefs de France

Hey DaisyGirl, you are disagreeing with me on what...me getting food poisoning? I think Morocco tasted awesome, so we agree there....I'm letting people know that they might want to keep my experience in mind as a reminder that two people (and I'm sure many more) got violently ill as a result of eating their food. I would want to be notified if someone got food poisoning at a Disney restaurant, wouldn't you?

We just went last week, 5 couples, one couple got violently ill after eating at Brown Derby and one couple got ill after eating at Citricos. Not sure it's food poisoning as opposed to the Norwalk virus that has plagued WDW.

BTW, 2 couples ate at Morrocco, had excellent food and no illness.
