I made ADRs here, and am now second-guessing my choice. I know everyone raves about the food at Kona, but the atmosphere puts us off. Thought it'd be more fun to take the monorail to the Contemporary and have dinner there, but ... how's the food at Concourse?

We are eating there our first night - Aug 27. I will be sure to post a review when I return as I haven't eaten there before. From what I have read, the meals are good, steaks are good, although most posters advise requesting the sauce for the steaks/meat on the side as they are a bit overwhelming.

I also made ADR's at Concourse due to the atmosphere as my DS4 is a HUGE monorail fan and will love watching it pass by. :cloud9:

We ate there last year for dinner and it was wonderful. I ordered the steak and I swear it just melted in my mouth. Try Concourse once, I don't think you will regret it. Enjoy!!!

I'll be taking DH there for his birthday in Nov., he's a meat and potatoes kind of guy so I hope he enjoys it.

I think this is kind of a hidden gem. We are eating there our first night since we are staying at CR and it's right there. Never had dinner there, but have had lunch and it was tasty and we had very good service.

We ate there for a family meal in December before the MVMCP - it was my Dsis, DM, DD8 (at the time), my sister's friend/traveling buddy and myself. We all enjoyed it greatly. There was so much food. I shared a bit off my Dsis and DM meals. I ordered two appetizers that caught my eye that evening! We also split 3 desserts between the four of us.

I enjoyed the atmosphere - we were one of the first seated that evening for dinner, had a great server. We had a nice round booth and it was just a very comfortable, relaxing enjoyable time for us all.

I love the monorail going through. I would eat there again - but this year we are eating in the park before MVMCP so we don't have to deal with the crowds at the entrance!!!

Here is what we had:
Me - appetizer - both were delish!
Pan Seared Scallops $8.59
Mozzarella and Tomato Salad $6.99

Dsis
Prime Rib - with mashed potatoes - 10 ounces $16.99

DM
Grilled Salmon BLT - on olive sourdough with garlic mayonnaise and arugula $12.99

Friend
Penne Pasta - sauteed chicken, spinach, tomatoes, shiitake mushrooms, kalamata olives, and parmesan cheese $13.99;

DD - spaghetti & meatball, smoothie and the cookie to paint.

Dessert - Key Lime Pie, Cheese cake & creme bruele

We are eating here our first night too - Aug 27. My boys also love the monorail. I heard the food was good, so I'm looking forward to it. I also liked the menu choices on the child's menu.

Our group of 5 adults celebrated my best friend's birthday at the Concourse last November. We were welcomed warmly and the service was outstanding. The wings were so good we ordered more, the onion rings were fabulous. My steak was excellent. I had ordered a birthday cake and it was beautiful and so delicious. The manager came to our table to wish my friend a happy birthday and present her with a card signed by the staff.

We will definitely return.

We just got done eating here. This past week (OCt 15 -22)the food and service were great.

This restaurant is always a must on every trip to WDW for us! :thumbsup2 We have had breakfast, lunch and dinner here and have never had a bad meal or bad service. This is usually the very first meal of our trip. After travelling all day to WDW, we love having a relaxing and yummy dinner at Concourse Steakhouse. We are looking forward to our dinner there on Tuesday night!!! YAHOO!!! :bounce:

We just ate there Sunday 8/20 and the food was good. I probably had the best filet there than any other place for the 4 nights were were in WDW. (We ate at LeCellier, Kona, Maya--LeCellier was the second best). Please make an ADR. When we arrived for our 7:40PM ADR, the place was packed. We were told we would have a 20 minute wait to be seated. At exactly 8:00PM we were called. Tons of folks were trying to do a walkin here and were being turned away, I think after be turned away at Chef Mickeys. There were a ton of unhappy folks walking around the Contemporary Sunday night--they all looked hungary and dazed. There also was a convention checking in in the lobby and the line stretched 30-40 people long. Lots of big groups were being seated at the Concourse. We did do lunch here on Saturday afternoon and made our ADR on Friday afternoon with no problem getting a noon seating for 4.

We're trying it for the first time on this trip. I say keep you ADR's. I've heard many good things about The Concourse Steakhouse! Have a great trip!

I've never eaten at Concourse Steakhouse but I would think it's atmosphere would be on par or even worse than Kona Cafe. I am a huge fan of the Kona Cafe and personally like the atmosphere...but what is it about it that puts you off? Concourse Steakhouse is open, in the middle of the concourse ( :teeth: ) with Chef Mickey's to one side and the monorail above. So if it's "lobby noise" that you are trying to get away from, the Concourse won't be any better than Kona.

:tink: We tried it last year and the food was okay but the service was not. I'm sure we were there at the wrong time after reading the reviews but we hesitate to go back. We have enjoyed Le Cellier in Epcot.

Kona seems like you're dining in a lobby coffeshop, which you are. Not much to see except people walking around. Even though there's no ambience at Concourse, you have the monorail going by overhead on both sides, and the excitement of Chef Mickey's next door. But if it were just DH and I, we would be eating at Kona.

Mu husband is a steak lover so went to the Concourse for his birthday while at WDW. We all thought the food was fabulous. Seriously, it was really really good. I'd go there again in a heartbeat.

I thought the food on Concourse was just OK. We had really good service but all of our steaks were overcooked. I would eat there again but there are many other places I would try first.

We have been eating at Concourse for years. The food is very good. It can get noisy at times between the monorail and Chef Mickey's next door, but that is all part of the atmosphere.
We also like Kona Cafe a lot and eat there often. We find the atmosphere to be quieter at Kona than at Concourse. But we like them both.

I think CS is an excellent choice for a first night meal. 1) It does not require park admission, 2)It's on the monorail line which is nice if you're staying at a mono resort, 3) It's VERY WDW with the monorail coming through the concourse, 4) The food is good, and though the service varies, it's your first night and you're so glad to be there it isn't so critical, 5) If you're not wiped out from the traveling you can browse around the hotel shops, or even do a monorail tour of the Poly and the GF, 6) You could even incorporate a monorail lounge tour :teeth:

It's also probable that it won't be the absolute best meal of your visit--you don't want it to be all down hill after the first night do you? ;)
