We have decided to spend a day at Kennedy Space Center on our trip this January. By looking at their website, I think it will be a full day there and the kids will be ready to eat dinner before we head back to OKW. It there any unique or fun 'not to be missed' places out that way. Many thanks

bumping...I'd like some info on this also.

We are spending Sat. Dec. 17th at KSC the day before our cruise. We are spending the night at the Radisson. What sort of restaurants are in this area?

I am soo glad you posted this question. We will be heading that way in Feb. and have decided to do Kennedy for the day also. I read somewhere that there is not a lot to eat around the area. So, any info. would be greatly appreciated.

I also read that there is a boardwalk at Cocoa Beach, we'd like to try and see that also. Anyone been there?? Worth it?

Thanks.

We were at KSC about a month ago and stayed in Cocoa Beach which is about a 15 minute drive from Kennedy. We ate at a really good restaurant called Florida Seafood Bar and Grille. In fact, we liked it so much we ate there 2 nights in a row. Here's a link with directions and menus.

We didn't go to the Boardwalk so I'm sorry I can't help with that. :confused3

We live about 20 minutes from KSC, Actually lots of good place's locally, For a truly one of a kind seafood place i recommend "Dixie Crossroads" in Titusville. Specializing in Wild Ocean shrimp and other things it is a local treasure that people visit from all over the world. Started many years ago by The Thompson family and still run by the daughter today. Alot of history around the place a not uncommon to have a bit of a wait by the grounds have ponds with fish to feed and a garden area, so worth the wait. Like no other place. If you go to Cocoa beach try Bernard Surf been around since th 50"s or Rusty"s at Port Canaveral for a little more casual than the Surf both are sun by the same people. You can PM me if you have any other questions and I'll be happy to help.

We loved Bernard's Surf. I've mentioned this before....when we stopped in, it was very crowded and I thought we'd never be able to get seated without reservations, but when I apologized to the hostess and told her that I had read about them in Southern Living, she was so sweet and seated us immediately. We had a fantastic time and the food was delicious.

For atmosphere and food, our favorite places are on the Cocoa Beach pier.

Our very favorite is Marlin's - windows to the ocean, good food, informal rustic beach type place. You can watch the surfers while you eat. The pier has plenty of parking (on land, of course).

I too Vote for Dixie Crossroads. Whenever we are in florida, we will make our way over to this restuarant. The rock shrimp are to die for!!! I understand that they opened one in Orlando and i cant wait to try it out! While you are in the area go to the cape caraveral national seashore park( they can tell you how to get there from the restuarant) its not far. There you can see across the water and see the shuttle on its launch pad. Its something to see!

We drive out of our way from Orlando or MCO to Dixie Crossroads for the Rock Shrimp - not a fancy place but yum!
