Dining With Those Not On The Plan

I am planning to book a trip on the deluxe dining plan for July. My parents will be traveling at the same to Disney but won't be on the plan. If we dine together with separate checks, will they be allowed to eat from our appetizers and desserts or are the Disney police going to be watching?

I apologize if this has been asked before, but my search turned up nada.

as long as they are ordering food I see no problem, the servers are too busy to pay attention to who eats what
