Dining with strangers?

We ate with another family at Biergarten. We had plenty to chat about! It wasn't uncomfortable at all.

We also shared with another family at Biergarten and didn't find it uncomfortable at all! Guess it depends on who you get stuck with!

In Japan in Epcot you share a spot around the grill. Sometimes people are friendly and interesting, sometimes not very social. It's all hit or miss.

I didn't have a drop of alcohol! I don't have anything against drinking but unfortunately for me I seem to be allergic to just about all alcohol now....sucks to be me!

We were seated in a large booth with split table between groups
at 50s Prime time--our waitress wanted us to all play along with
the little skit of being cousins-like we were related to these
annoying people--well neither me or my DH cared for that at all.
Whenever our name was called to be seated at our table there name was called also
but I didn't think that they would seat us so close to them.
It was 4 loud and obnoxous women.
We couldn't wait to get out of that place and will never return.
I'm sure if it were at a different restaurant or had a different group of
people seated next to us, things probably would
have been different because I'm a very social person and usually like
getting to know people.

Oh Yes, I do remember having a Newly wed couple in our back seat at
Sci-Fi Cafe and I enjoyed talking with them they were very friendly
and they started up the conversation to begin with.
I didn't mind that at all, we all enjoyed ourselves.

Biergarten & Teppan Edo. It's never bothered us. Some people are more sociable than others (sometime's we're more sociable than other times lol).

50's Prime Time Cafe doesn't have shared seating but the tables are so close together that it feels like it does and you're in "rooms" with maybe 8 to 10 tables to a room. This is the only place where I ever felt uncomfortable. We had had a long day, tired and our waiter was low-key (good) but he was very into the act with the table 6 inches away from us (great for them). It attracted lots of attention from other guests and the family took TONS of pics and I just felt like I was right in the middle of their dining experience and I was SOOOO not in the mood for that at the time. We were seated against two walls and the other table - I almost felt like I was cornered.

That being said, I have had good experiences at 50's as well.....just a bad night the last time we went.
