Ive looked around and now Im confused:

1/ can a dining plan be added to a room only reservation? I have tickets left on a a non-expiry and dont really need a ticket for the one night trip me and sister are taking in 2 weeks---tho she will need a ticket... or can dining be added to a 'package' only?

2/ where does it say deluxe dining plan includes appetizer? It seems it includes 3 meals --but a TS meal is entree and dessert, no appetizer....

Help!

You cannot add DDP to a room only reservation. You must convert it to a package. Unless you are an annual passholder, the package must include tickets for everyone in your party. For a one night stay you would have to book a package with a 1 night ticket if you want a dining plan. Because you are within 45 days of your stay you would have to pay for the entire package in full when you convert your room-only reservation to a package.

Yes, the deluxe dining plan includes appetizers at lunch and dinner for TS. The deluxe plan allots 3 meal credits per night of your stay (not per day). Some meals cost 2 credits per person, so if you book any of those you are not necessarily looking at 3 meals a day. You are probably looking at the specifics for the basic dining plan, not the deluxe, if it does not include the appetizer for adults.

Yeah the 3 meals is what Im thinking. We have CG for dinner the night we get there then the next day Boma and CR. Can use the last credit for one of those, using 2 for the CG dinner. I think it would save money, tho that is alot of food (appetizer and dessert at lunch and dinner to make it worthwhile monetarily I think).

We dont have a room ressie yet, as were not sure if were going 1/13 or 1/14. So, converting to a package doesnt matter right now. We could book it that way when we reserve, yes??

I could bite the bullet and buy a one day ticket for myself as well. Am half planning another family trip for next fall, so could use my non expiring then I suppose.

The 1 day ticket you purchase to be able to get the dining plan does not have to be used on this trip. You could still use your nonexpir. tickets on this trip and save the 1 day ticket for some other trip & upgrade that ticket, if needed, to suit the needs of the subsequent trip. However, if you would want to the dining plan on the subsequent trip you would be back in a similar situation again.

Right, a never ending problem of having to go to Disney but buy a ticket! awful!

I like the dining plan. We like at least one TS meal a day, if not a lunch and dinner, and like alot of the Signature places. I think for our next fall trip we might do the dlx dining plan for the 3 of us, me, DH and DD17. Plus 2 snacks each a day. $71 isn't cheap but if you TS alot you cover that pretty fast.
