DH, DD (2) and I are staying at AKL Villas in a 1 bedroom from 11/4-11/10 and we have exactly one reservation made - breakfast at Hollywood and Vine (DD loves Disney junior characters so this is a must).

I don't want to make our vacation full of ADRs, but I feel like I at least need to throw in a dinner or two and maybe a lunch (or two?). I was perusing the board and all I really came up with was Tusker House for lunch the day we go to AK.

Does anyone have any other good TS lunch suggestions? I'm also looking for a good character meal for either another lunch or dinner. My sister and DS(2) are joining us for MK one day so maybe something there? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!!

There's Chrystal Palace with Winnie the Pooh and gang at the MK. I prefer the Breakfast, but we had lunch there once and it was good. Character interaction has always been great there for us as well. I don't like making too many ADR's either and fortunately in September when we typically go, we have had no problem getting into the places we like to eat spur of the moment. :)

In MK, I think you have two choices. Crystal Palace to see the Pooh characters is good. What we like to do is an early breakfast at Chef Mickey's, then we hop on the monorail and into the MK for the rest of the day.

The only problem I can see is that they are both buffets. It depends on how you will make out with 2 year olds in that setting.

Even though you are lookig at the MK, if buffet is a problem, try Garden Grill in Epcot.

We really like to do a late lunch at CP with our kids. We get to the park early, tour til lunch and go home for a nap after lunch. With a sit down lunch we find it's even possible to get in a ride or two after eating where after a QS we would need to go right back for a nap.

our kids loved Winnie the pooh dinner at CP...we all had a blast too...the food is pretty darn good for a buffet....loads of choices for everyones likes....We did Biergarten also ..the young ones loved the band and the music...We have done H & V for breakfast and also Tusker House for breakfast...the kids loved the characters..
YOUR dd may of liked the Akershus in Epcot (norway)...we had a great time there too...We did more buffets with the young kids so they didnt have to sit around waiting to long for their meals to appear...just a thought..
Have fun planning

We had Crystal Palace for breakfast on this last trip and we enjoyed it. My son is 2. I don’t do TS lunches with him because it’s nap time. We get QS just before he falls asleep. We did Chef Mickey's for dinner on this trip as well as Garden Grill.

Garden Grill is served family style and we really enjoyed the food. Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's and Tusker House are buffets. The buffets worked for us. It was easier because you get the food immediately. My son on this trip would not entertain sitting in his high chair until he had some food. I can't comment on the Tusker House lunch as we did the breakfast on bot of our trips. It was yummy.

We did Crystal Palace for a very early dinner on our first trip and it was good too. The breakfast though allowed me to get pictures of them alone in front of the Walt Disney and Mickey statue and castle. Those were precious.

We ate lunch at the Crystal Palace this week. We had a great experience! We made our ADR for 11:30 when they first start serving lunch. My review is posted in my Disney Done Differently TR. I think it's somewhere between pages 163 and 165. It is linked in the index on the first post.

Piglet made his way around to us 3 different times! Pooh and Tigger twice and Eeyore once.

My son is 8 but has special needs. We always bring some toys or something to entertain him in case we have to wait.

Not in MK, but near enough, you might want to consider Whispering Canyon in WL. We went there with DS on his first trip when he was almost 2 and he loved it. Yes, there aren't any characters but it's loud, fun and the wait staff is entertaining. DS loved when they delivered the drinks the waiter just threw a hole bunch of straws on the table....he was playing with them the whole time there. Also anytime they yelled for the Ketchup, DS had a great time yelling along. It was the first time he was allowed to yell out loud while in a restaurant. He quite didn't know what was going on, all he knew was that he was able to yell out loud with everyone else and mommy didn't tell him to be quiet.

There are entrees you can order or you can go for the family style skillet that everyone shares. I found when DS was under 3 and wasn't on dining plan with us buffets and family style meals were the best because I could get him anything he wanted and didn't have to worry about ordering a meal for me that I can also share with him...of course you can always order off childs menu for DD and pay.

Crystal Palace is a great character meal for kids and the food is good for all 3 meals. Chef Mickeys is also a great choice.
