Dining suggestions for gf kid and a dairy free kid?

I doubt that the fries at Hungry Bear are GF now that they've added chicken nuggets and corn dogs to the menu.

There are no GF items from the case at Jolly Holiday. They have a cookie, brownie and muffin that are pre-packaged, of which only the muffin is also dairy free. I don't know if that's because everything really has gluten or if the items are made in a common kitchen or on a common surface. You can try asking about the macaroon, but I'm not sure if the CMs would actually know if there's flour in it or if they just know that there's no dedicated bakery on site.

We make macaroons for Passover and therefore we don't use flour, and I've made at least 4 different recipes in the past. But I've definitely seen some with it in there, so I wouldn't assume.

Double 'bump'. I'm wondering if the poster has 'silent Celiac' or is GF as a lifestyle choice rather than a medical necessity. I've asked more than once about the Matterhorn Macaroon and have been told repeatedly that it is NOT GF.

BTW, fries at HB were GF as of last April. They've always had a separate fryer. As does Smokejumper's (GF as of last December). Carnation used to get their GF fries from another kitchen but since the Club 33 re-do they no longer do this.

As always; ask before you eat.

Last year did they say they have a dedicated fryer with it's own oil or that fries were the only fried item? The corndog is a new item within the last month. Yes, always ask every time before ordering.

Dedicated fryer. Having gluten-y fried foods on the menu isn't new. They've had onion rings on the menu for years so they've always had a separate fryer for GF fries.

If you find out they no longer do GF fries, please post here as well as on the 'GF Superthread', ok?

I forgot about the onion rings. My post was in response to someone who said they thought it was Hungry Bear that had GF fries. You can't assume anywhere has GF anything. You have to ask every time. You can literally go to Disneyland, order something, go back the next day, and it's off the menu. Do the menus typically change every day? No. But when there are changes, it's often overnight. Taking a post online that says they had GF fries somewhere, or worse, that place is where they think they had GF fries is dangerous. Just look at the confusion over the macaroon in this thread. Someone is saying it's GF, it's not.

I agree, we have to ask each and every time. It's a drag, but it keeps us healthy.

I have a feeling that the macaroon is possibly a cross-contamination issue. I had asked a while back about the Tigger Tails and was told that they are not GF because of XC. I assume it's because they are 'dunked' in chocolate pots also used to 'dunk' gluten items. May be the same way with the macaroon.

I think it's the same with the caramel apples. I always assumed they were prepping them on the same surface as the ones that have cookies on the outside and/or they touch in the case.

I will add though, that when the DIS podcast made the macaroons flour was used:
