Dining sequence on 7 day magic

How do you know ahead of time what your dining rotation is going to be so you can plan what night you might want to eat at Palo's. Sister's family and my family are going together. Can one person from our party book reservations for her family and mine or will one rep from hers and mine both have to go. I've just heard it's a mad rush for reservations.

Once you receive your KTTW card I understand the rotation is printed on that. At least that is what I've read on these boards and am planning on.

I also understand that one person can make the ressies as long as both stateroom numbers are known. I presume it is even more possible if you're planning on eating together.

Thanks MJ.....that helped a lot. I printed it out to keep with the rest of my stuff. I was also told that you can pretty much expect Parrot Cay your first night if you have older children, which we will. So that rotation will work great for us. Anything will really, but it's nice to sorta plan on.

We cruised on the 1/4 Magic Western and we had 14, 17, 19, 20, 21 year olds with us and we had the LAPL rotation.

Our 3 & 4 days have been on Magic (upcoming is our first 7 day) and with kids who were 8 & 10 then 10 & 12 we've always started with Lumiere's. And that has worked fine for us as well. Although I have to say APL etc. would be great for the 7 day as it would put us in Lumiere's for formal night! We'll take what we get and have a blast!

APL is my favorite rotation on the Western for that very fact....I love being in Lumeire's on formal and semi-formal nights....and love being in Parrot Cay on Mexicali night!!

What rotation do you get n the 7 day if you have little ones? At sailing our DS's will be 2.5 & 5?

Our children are 9 and 11. Is that considered older ? I'm not sure what that means for our dining rotation.

The "rules of thumb" depend on the mix of kids on the boat. Generally it goes this way.

All adults, or kids teens or older: LAPLAPL
Little kids (babies through 8): APLAPLA
Mid range kids (say 7-15): PLAPLAP

Sometimes the "mid range" shifts around, depending on the mix. We had an 8 and 10 one trip and had the plaplap, and a 9 and 10 the next trip and got TAPT (it was only 4 days)

We really didn't like Parrot Cay and would have requested to be switched if we had gotten the PTAP.

Note: T and L are interchangeable, it's Lumiere's on the Magic and Tritons on the Wonder.

I love the passporter because if has a wealth of information in it. On the section on Dining, the "Anticipated Dining Rotation" states:

All adults: Day 1 Lumieres/Tritons, Day 2 Animators Palate
and Day 3 Parrot Cay, etc

Young Kids: Day 1 Animators Palate, Day 2 Parrot Cay, and Day 3 Lumieres/Tritons, etc

Older Kids: Day 1 Parrot Cay, Day 2 Lumieres/Tritons, and Day 3 Animators Palate

This is the way it worked for us in 1999 on the 4 day/3 night on the Magic as we had teenagers. But that's not the way it was for mmouse37! So I guess no one will know for sure until they get there. Regardless, a good time will be had by all.

Thanks everyone for the information. I printed out the cool chart mmouse37 made (thanks). It looks as if we "should" have the APLAPLA since we have young children which is great because we will be in Luminere's for our semi-formal and formal night.

We had four adults and a 3 yr old and we started off with Lumieres. Will be interested to see what our rotation is for our 4-day in march with 3 adults and a 3 yr old.
