Can someone point me in direction or explained to me how dining rotation works? I'm a newbie Do you have a choice on the rotation? We will be sailing on Fantasy. Thank you.

When you are given your Key To The Workd card on check-in it will have your dining rotation on it. Each night you will be assigned to one of the Main Dining Rooms. Your servers will come to each MDR with you, so you will have the same servers the whole time.

Different length cruises have different rotations. You can do a search for rotations as lots of people list them.

You can request a specific rotation in advance, however Disney will let you know it is only a request and not guaranteed. Lately a few people have reported that rotation requests are not preferred as rotations may change, so depending on what you want, your request may be better phrased as something like "we would like to be in Animator's Palette on Pirate Night" or similar.

DCL assigns your rotation and unless you have a preferred restaurant (which you probably don't since you haven't cruised yet) or one you want to miss a specific one to go to Palo/Remy there really isn't one rotation that is "better" than the others.

When you get on board, you will find out your rotation (as the PP said it is on your KTTW card) but you also get a ticket in your room that spells it out clearly what restaurant you will be in which day. Your table number will be the same in each restaurant even though they may be in different areas. Your dining time will be the same each night (the time depends on if you have Main or Late dining). You show up at the assigned restaurant at the assigned time and you will be escorted to your table (the line moves slowly the first night you are in each of the 3 restaurants as they will show just about everyone to their table; the second or third time you are in that restaurant since you already know where your table is located many people find their own way back so the line moves quicker).

Once at your table, you will have the same serving team which consists of the server, their assistant server and the head server. They will be in each restaurant that you dine in so they get to know your preferences.

Even though you will be repeating restaurants (3 locations; 7 night cruise), the menus do not duplicate. Each of the restaurants has their signature/rotational menu. The other 4 nights all the restaurants serve the nightly theme menu.
