I am trying to guess what our dinning rotation will be on our Dec 10, 2005 cruise. We will be me dh and two dd 6 & 8. Will we start at Animators? I was a little confused by the description in the passporter... Are families with older kids at the Parrot Cay the first night or families with younger kids?
Thanks,
Shellie

When we cruised with DD8 and 6 on a Western this past October, we had LAP for the Main seating.

The Passporter is only a guide. but generally families with younger children are at Animators the first night. If you are trying to plan Palo and Spa around dinner (and the character breakfast), you should be prepared for all three rotations.

We cruised earlied this month with kids 7 and 10, and were given the PLA rotation. This was on the Eastern. Afterwards, none of us thought it made any difference what our rotation was.

Your rotation will either me on your cabin key when you check in at port, or on a ticket in your stateroom.

I agree with the above poster, the rotation really isn't that big a deal--we've had some of the worst according to these boards--formal night in Parrot Cay, tropical night in Lumieres, but it was still such a great experience that I don't stress over dining rotation at all.

IMHO, this is the only gambling Disney allows...your rotation. We sailed 11/20 - 11/27 on the Magic...myself, DH and DS (12) and received LAP. The family we were seated with...DW, DH, DS (9), DD1(6) and DD2(3) so go figure. The only ICK thing with this rotation is that we were in Parrot Cay for both Formal and Semi-formal nights...it was a strange picture.

There really is not rhyme or reason to how Disney sets the rotation...I think it has not only to do with the ages of the children sailing but the numbers (i.e. to fit each person into the tables alloted for the cruise.) So, like I said, IMHO, this is the only gambling on the DCL.

If you book the REAS you can request your rotation. Our whole DisGroup booked PLAPLAP for our cruise last month, which worked out great: Lumiere's for formal, Parrot Cay for Pirate/Tropical night. The Dis families were of both early and late seatings, some with kids of varying ages, some with no kids.

That is true, but remember it's only a request not a guarantee. We booked the REAS and requested APL and a table for 4. We got neither. It really didn't matter though, and we had a GREAT time!

On our first two cruises our kids were younger (1st cruise: 11, 8 and 5; 2nd cruise: 13, 11 and 7) we got the PLA rotation. This last June kids were 16, 13, and 9, we got APL rotation. HTH

When we cruised on the Wonder in July our kids were 8 and 6 and we had PTAP rotation.
