Amy and Kirstens Walt Disney World Trip
This is a review of the table service meals of my recent trip while on the Dining Plan. This trip I took with my great Disney nut friend Amy and I left my husband and cat home in cold Chicago! Since I have been to Disney so many times, and Amy has only been once before she let me pick all the restaurants! What a burden! If you read this while on an empty stomach I take no responsibility for you actions!
Feb 11th Alfredos (Epcot) 8:45 pm
I ate at Alfredos once when I was in WDW with my family and we did not care for it. I figure my taste buds have changed (I use to hate chocolate, strange I know) so I should give it another shot. The restaurant is loud, and the tables are close, but this did not bother us. I ordered the Mozzarella Caprese for my appetizer, the tomatoes were delicious! At home all we have right now is the hard tomatoes, so these were like heaven! The mozzarella was good, not great, it was a little mushy. For dinner I had the Vodka pasta with Shrimp this was excellent, even a little spicy which I liked. It was an enormous serving and I left a lot of pasta but of course finished the shrimp. For dessert we split the tiramisu which was really cute served in a coffee cup, and delicious. My friend (Amy) had the house salad with raspberry dressing, which was a good mixture of greens, not just iceberg. For dinner she had the Trio pasta, which was ziti, lasagna, and ravioli. The ziti and lasagna were very good and the ravioli was just okay, the sauce was bland. We both enjoyed Alfredos and I would go back.

Feb 12th Grand Floridian Café 6:30p
I have eaten plenty of times at the Café, but never for dinner. We planned an early dinner so we could catch the fireworks and the Magic Kingdom and stay for late admission. It was freezing this day, the temp dropped to the low 30s. We were sure glad we had our winter coats with us from Chicago! We both ordered hot tea for our beverage and were given the choice of probably 10 different teas. We both then ordered soup (can you tell we were cold!) I had the French Onion and she had the Chicken Noodle. The French Onion was just right, little salty and gooey with the cheese on top. I didnt try and Chicken Noodle, but she ate the whole bowl, so it must have been good! For dinner we both ordered the land and sea (steak and grilled shrimp) the only difference I ordered my meat med-rare and Amy ordered her meat med-well. The steak was very good, not tough at all and cooked just they way I like it. The shrimp were also delicious grilled just right, not burnt at all. Also served with the dinner was mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. Dessert always the best part of dinner, Amy had the chocolate fondue, which was served with fruit and marshmallows and brownies. The chocolate was really good; it was milk chocolate with a hint of orange. I had two small desserts the lemon cheesecake and the key lime tart. The tart was better than the cheesecake. I would probably not order them again, and stick with the fondue. The service was really good as well as the food and we would go back.

Feb 13th Spoodles (Boardwalk) 630p
I had some reservations about Spoodles because my only other time eating here was for lunch and we were not impressed, but that was 8 years ago! For our drinks we both ordered the Sangria, which was red wine variety and served with fruit. We both enjoyed it was more sweet than some other sangria Ive had. We split the four cheese flat bread and the shrimp appetizer. Both of which were good, the shrimp were very large, and thats good because they only gave us three. I had the NY strip steak (med-rare) and with scallops added on. The steak was under cooked was very rare, but I ate it anyway and the scallops were seared. I prefer the scallops to be a little firmer, and they were on the medium side. Amy had the rigatoni and she added the shrimp. I had a taste and it was delicious! For dessert I had the gelato, which was three different kinds, and the only one I remember is pistachio. They also gave me little cookies and fruit, and a spear of chocolate. Amy had the crème brulee, I didnt taste but she liked it. My grade would be higher for the restaurant if my food had been cooked properly.
