1st time poster though I read everything before our trip

Just returned yesterday from our trip and was DS (12) and DD (8) 1st magical experience. We booked the dinning plan and all the places we ventured were very educated on the program, including the snack venders. Just hand them one room key and your receipt will tell you the credits remaining. Easy!!

Sunday Epcot (Table Service) Garden Grill " The food was good and plenty with lots of characters on hand (Mickey/Pluto/Chip&Dale) They worked their way around the room for autographs and pics. They brought out a tray of RBeef, Pork, fish,GBeans, and more (I cant remember). The butter for the bread had a orange taste to it and my wife loved it. We all had cheesecake for desert. DS has milk allergies and had milk free ice cream (treat) My DD had CStrips w/ macaroni. Service was great, never had an empty glass. (A+)

Sunday Epcot (Counter Serv) Yorkshire Fish-nChips England " We are big Captain D's fans and the food quality here is same. We had fish-nchips while DD was forced to have PB&J (Smuckers) w/ carrots & apple sauce. Its on the lake and birds came up to the table for scraps. Good atmosphere. (B+)

It was hot so we all had a soda for a snack between meals from a street vendor.

Monday MGM (Table Serv) 50's Prime Time Cafe " I had the meatloaf and it was ok. DW liked the pot roast. DS had Fried Chicken and quanity was good but he said it tasted only fair. DD had macaroni and CNuggets. We ordered onion rings for app. and they were really good. I had a choc sundae and wife had cheesecake. Atmosphere was great, (Mom told me to put away my toy, video camera, at the table) and waiter gave my kids the business all evening long. Lots of Fun, descent food, great service. (A-)

Monday MGM (Counter Serv) Backstage "We choose to eat a late breakfast
here. The service from the kitchen was slow. I waited 15mins to get 4 scrambled egg plates. They'd get biscuits out and run out of eggs, get eggs up and run out of bacon and so on. Lots of unhappy campers. The counter service did appoligize repeatedly and gave away muffins/danishs to boot. Food was ok but plentiful. (C. for service)

Another hot day, another soda for snacks from a street vendor.

Tuesday Animal Kingdom (Counter Serv) Tusker House " This was our favorite counter service meal. We all had the fried chicken sandwich on a deli roll. It was great. DD had Cstrips and fries. We all had cheesecake for desert." (A)

Once again, a soda from a street vendor for a snack.

Tuesday Hoop-De-Doo (Table Serv counts as 2) " We enjoyed this one best though it cost you 2 credits. An old west saloon type setting, group photos are taken upon arriving to this event and delivered between app and main course. (We purchased them, great quality) Everything is served in tin buckets. A bucket of salad w/ 2 small loafs of bread are for starters. After a brief show intro, pics are distributed for purchasing and then the main course is served. A bucket of Fried Chicken, a bucket of BBQ Ribs, a bowl of corn and a bowl of Baked Beans. We had an additional bucket of Ribs and beans.
The show continues while you scarf and its a "Hee-Haw" good time. My DS laughed all night long. After a break for desert, Strawberry Shortcake, the show comes back for a wrap up. Great Fun, Great Food (ribs), and after the 7:15 show which we saw, we enjoyed the Wishes firework show from the deck of the boat back to the MK. (A+)

Wednesday (Table Serv) Cinderellas Castle " Breakfast was booked so we did lunch and it was good. DW and I had the Robo Pie. Quite tasty and filling. It is served on a pastry crust and we both cleaned our plates. DS had the pasta and he picked out the pasta from around the veggies, though it looked pretty good. DD had the pretzel dogs but she was caught up in the moment and didnt eat much. We were served an app that included crab cakes and chicken with a variety of dips that was fair. DS had jello while the rest of us had the blueberry muffin w/ ice cream. (tasty and rich) Service here was good but not quite as good as previous, did run out of drinks a couple of times) Lots of princesses for pics and autographs (Cinderella/SleepBeauty/Wendy/Belle) (A)

We actually had ice cream for a snack around noon since we had 2:00 sitting at Cinderella's. We bought it from a street vendor.

Wendesday (Counter Serv) Pop Century " We got back to the hotel around 10:30 and were actually not that hungery. We elected to have a hamburger and fries from the hotel food court. We took the cheesecake as desert and brought it back to the room for breakfast. The burgers and fries were good but I dont think anyone ate them all." (B)

Thursday (Counter Serv) Pop Century " DS, DD and I had the Chilidog and FF
while my DW had Pizza. It was pretty good after a morning of shopping." (B)

Another hot day, another soda for a snack. this time we got a fountain soda from Caseys in the MK. DD got a water and was not charged a snack.

Thursday (Table Serv) Crystal Palace " buffet is not the choice for people who have been stuffing themselves all week. We didnt eat that much.
I sampled 3 of the many different pastas that were available. I also tried the Kiel ( I like turnip greens) but it was too bitter for me. My DW enjoyed the salmon and Prime rib. DS and DD ate CStrips. Food was good, service was great. The people eating there were kinda rude at the buffet line and didnt mind jumping or even pushing their way into line to get something they wanted. A simple "excuse me" or "do you mind if I grab a ..." would have been just fine. But it was more of a "look, its been a long day so dont start w/ me." or a " hey, I've paid a fortune for this trip, so move" type of attitude.
I did enjoy a window view of Cinderellas Castle. And lots of characters (Pooh/Tigger/Piglet/Eeore) Food good, service great, atmosphere left something to be desired. Maybe I was the one who was tired. (C)

Overall a great trip and much more food than we could eat. We packed poptarts and PB crackers that returned home w/ us.

Great reviews, thanks!!! We are going for lunch and dinner at CRT. My cousin and her family for lunch with the princesses, and me and my boys for dinner (don't care about princesses obviously :cool1: )
Was it crowded and how was the service? Thanks, glad you had a great time!! :wave2:

The place was not crowded at all with the exception of the value resorts which I assume stay full yr round. We actually made a couple of dropoffs at Corondo and Carreabean Resorts before going to Pop century and there was almost no one there.
We rode all the major rides 5 or 6 times each day and had each park done by 3pm.
My suggestion would be to sleep in if you want, we actually planned on 2 days at MK,
and was looking for things to do by 4:00pm the 1st day. We used they last day of our trip to shop and park hop to each of our favorite attractions.

Thanks for posting your reviews! We ate at Prime Time at the end of August and everybody really liked it, except for DS who ordered the chicken with ham and cheese - I don't think it was quite what he expected. He should have stuck with the fried chicken or meatloaf. We all had the big sundaes for dessert and we should have shared because they were huge!

Next time we'll try Hoop-de-doo. :flower:

Glad you enjoyed CRT lunch, as I'll be eating there in three weeks.
