When you make a dining reservation and will have 3 adults, 1 child (age 6), and one child who will need a high chair, how do you get the message across to the cm?:confused3

Party of 5 with one in a high chair
or....
Party of 4 AND an infant who will need a high chair.

I read a post in the past of someone whose ADRs were a disaster because they didn't book correctly with the high chair. I just don't want to make the same mistake.:goodvibes

I would tell the cm that it's a party of 5 with one in a high chair. that way, the space will be made IF they forget the high chair:)

Definitely give them the total number in your party. Your children's ages will be logged into the system, then when you check in for your ADR, they will ask you at the restaurant if you need a highchair. I know things can change quickly at Disney, but I've never been asked at reservation time about high chairs, and I have (so far!) never had a problem obtaining one at the restaurant. Have fun!

I just made my ADR's for 6 people one needing a high chair and one needing a booster. they lady got all confused so she looked at my hotel reservation to figure it out. I asked about including the highchair as a person and she said yes it has to be added because of space and fire reasons. However, even thou I requested a high chair and a booster they are not promised to me.

When we booked for 2005, we just told them party of 6 -- they had the ages of our children -- most of the time when we got to the restaraunt they would just swap out a chair for a highchair for the little guy. I don't think I ever mentioned a high chair on the phone during the reservation part.

We actually ended up using boosters for my 2nd youngest too & that wasn't planned -- sometimes we used them and sometimes we didn't depending on how high the table was and what the seats were like.

It was never a problem. I could see it being a problem if you reserved for 5 people and showed up with really 6 (i.e. 5 people & 1 high chair). I wonder if that's what happened.

When I made my ADRs they asked the ages of the children (we have 3) and then the CM asked me if we wanted a highchair for our 2yr old. When we got to the restaurant they again asked us if we needed a highchair. It was noted in their info but they just wanted to make sure we still needed one. Good luck! Its so exciting making ADRs - I wish I could be doing it. We aren't going back for 2-3 years! :sad1:

Disney counts babies in HC's as 1 - so I always say I'm booking a party of 3 (2 adults, and one infant in HC). Never had a problem... although in high season, they can't guarantee they will have a HC available. Never had a problem thus far, but at least they tell you up front!!
