Hi,
Starting my dining reservations and a had a couple questions as not much success today. I realize it could be staying off property and occupancy limits

1. What time of day do reservations begin online in central time please? 6 am? Saw on Disney website it said 5:45 am but didn’t say what time zone that was.

2. On tip videos on Disney food blog, it said if you couldn’t find table for big parties (7) try splitting up with times close to each other and hopefully you could sit together when arriving at restaurant. But when I try that it won’t let you unless more than an hour apart.Am I missing something?

3. Is Sci-Fi open? No openings for my day.

1. 6 a.m. ET, since Disney World is in the Eastern time zone. But it could open anywhere from 5:30 to 6 a.m. ET.
3. Yes, it's open.

I believe they open earlier than 6 am. We had pretty bad luck recently and I think this (see image below) has been in effect longer than I realized. Space 220 reservations started going online around 5:36, per some reports. If you can, start early! Wishing you all the luck and pixie dust!!

Sci-Fi is the most popular restaurant in HS right now. Very hard to get a reservation if you're not staying on property. I would set up some reservation finders and hope you get lucky.

If you didn't get what you wanted today, i would def sign up for dining alerts. I did for my (now cancelled) October trip and got everything I wanted that wasn't available on the day my window opened. People change plans often!

Where do you sign up for alerts? Curious, have never used anything like that before

Man that’s early for this WI girl. So I’m hearing 4:30 am our time would be best. Makes sense why when I thought I was right on time at 6 everything was gone. Fingers crossed! Thank you!

I’m for sure doing this. Is it right on the app or do you have to be on a desktop? Going Thanksgiving week so I’m sure that’s an issue go with crowds

Does anyone have an answer for question 2? Am I missing something? Can I split my party up and get similar times to eat together or does it always have to be over an hour apart?

We are supposed to go August 3-7 but I am worried it wont be open then. I'm having a lot of anxiety about deciding if I should try to cancel my plane tickets while I still can.

It's so upsetting trying to figure this out.

When i do the split I book part under my account and part under my husband's. Is there someone else in the party who has an account?

Even if no one has a separate MDE, don’t list everyone’s name on the ADR. You only have to put in the lead guests name. So make yourself the lead on 1, your husband the lead on the other. Leave the guest names blank. The only ADR that requires you put in a name for each guest is Cinderella’s Royal Table, because they charge for that right away.

I thought that might be the issue. Setting my husband up tonight! Fingers crossed the rest of the week goes better. Have to do it day by day because staying off property

I had some questions about large party seatung(7) and I called Disney dining reservation phone line earlier. On the recording (while waiti g to talk to an agent) it says that they weren't seating parties of more than 5 so it would be advised to try to split the party up, but not to expect to sit together. Maybe you can speak to a host when you show up for the ADR and they might be able to seat you together? Crossing fingers for you.
