I am trying to plan a three day trip to DL in July. Unlike WDW, I am finding it hard to locate information about DL online. Many of the online menus appear to be at least 18 months old. I have purchased both the Unoffical Guide and Burnibams Offical guide.

We are trying to plan meals/food. Which locations take priority seatings and how far in advance (I have located an awful lot of conflicting info.).

We are thinking about Blue Bayou, Goofys Kitchen, Ariel's Grotto, and the Fantasmic Dessert Buffet. We are a goup of 4 - Myself (almost 39), DH (40), Family Friend (37), and DD (8). We enjoy a variety of different cuisines and DD is an adventerous eater.

I am looking for any ideas, suggestions, or things to avoid.

Thanks In Advance

We just returned on Friday from a week at the GC in DL. One of our favorites is the Blue Bayou. We always try and get the first reservation for lunch so we can sit as close to the water as possible. The start at 11:30. My DH had the special which was a steak and crabcake combo. I had the clam chowder and house salad. We love it both for the food and surroundings. You listen to the crickets chirping, as you watch the guests travel down the river to the Pirates of the Caribbean. We are also frequent visitors to WDW and you are right it's hard to find actual menu's for the DL restaurants. DD has several also that are good. We like Brennan's Jazz Kitchen, again especially for lunch. It is more relaxed and less expensive. They also have a take out window for their beignets, po boys, etc. We tried the new Tortilla Joes this trip and like it very much, as well. Fairly standard Mexican fare but they too have a to go window. I'm not sure where you are staying but Storytellers at the GC has a good breakfast buffet and a toned down character experience with just Goofy, Chip and Dale. For a really nice meal, Napa Rose is wonderful at the GC. We have done the Fantasmic dessert buffet in the past and enjoyed it very much. Seating is very limited so keep that in mind. They also have a special viewing of the Electrical Parade at DCA at the Winery. We did that one last year and also enjoyed it. For the adults you recieved a glass of wine and and antipasto platter of cheeses, crackers, fruit, olives, etc. They had a special menu for kids as well. I couldn't tell you what was on it as we don't have any kids so we don't pay too much attention to the kids menus. There is a Disney Dining number at DL that might be more helpful for you. I don't have it right now and am having trouble finding it but may be someone else can get that for you or just call the main DL number and they can get it for you. They will also make PS for you and let you know how far our you can make them. I am thinking it is 60 days but unlike WDW the restaurants just don't fill up fast at DL. I hadn't called before we left so last Friday when we arrived I asked for an early lunch on Saturday at Blue Bayou. To my amazement they got me in at 1130 for the next day and we got to sit on the water. Also, menus at all restaurants at the parks, DD and the hotels are all posted outside which is nice if you are not quite sure.
