I think we are going to stay off-site for our July trip so we will not have the dining plan. My girls will be 13, 10, and 6. If we are paying out of pocket for food, is it possible for my older 2 to share a meal? If my 10 year-old wants to order off the kids menu, will she be allowed? FWIW, she looks like she is 8 - she is pretty small for her age. Just wanted to know if we are less limited by the disney guidelines if we are not on the plan. Thank you!:goodvibes

I don't think there is a problem sharing from the menu no matter how you are paying. We have been on the ddp and oop and often share meals--except in a buffet situation. My Mil always orders from the kids menu because she has a very small appetite--but that is usually counter service--buffets are usually tough for them because she hardly eats anything.

We share meals - especially at some of the restaurants at Epcot. We always tell the waitress that we'll need an extra plate (and sometimes a spoon if we are sharing soup). Last year, we ate the 3-course lunch in France and split it with no problem. Just be up front with the waiter/waitress and they will let you know if it is not allowed. Of course, buffets and places like O'Hana must be on your own. Enjoy!
