Dining question please help!

Please help! My family of 4 is going to be traveling to WDW in August 2016 and we are not planning to use the dining plan. My parents will be going at the same time staying at a different hotel. They will be using the dining plan. We will be having meals together and was wondering how it works when one party is on the dining plan and the other is not. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

When you are seated the server will ask if you are on the DDP. Just tell them who is on the plan and who is not. You will be given separate checks.
