I just read on MousePlanet that prices went up at some Disney restaurants.

"Across-the-board price increases went into effect on May 5 for all fixed-price dining locations, including family buffets, dinner shows and character dining experiences."-MousePlanet WDW Update

Anyone noticed this yet or have any info on it?

Bumping for more information.......

And, if we pre-paid for Hoop with our credit card, wouldn't we be locked into the older rates if the price did increase?

I'd really like to have this information confirmed as well... as we can't be on the dining plan, this may change some of my plans for character meals. I was already waffling on a couple of my ADRs, if the price increases are too much I may have to cancel them.

I'd like to know more about this as well, like actual amounts of the increases and whether it effects events that have already been prepaid.

bump to the top :dance3:

somebody should be able to report as that was 9 days ago..

I'd love more info on this too. We have 4 character breakfasts we plan to pay OOP for but may have to drop a couple of them if the prices go up.

I just called Disney and they told me the price increase that was recently announced does not go into effect until after September.

Interesting. Kevin Yee, author of a book on WDW dining (with menus and prices) told me that WDW only changes prices once a year, in October. Perhaps he was right, at least in the case of fixed price meals, Obviously menu changes are sometimes more frequent.

For our Dec trip we need to make ADR's in a couple weeks. In the past we have always found out on the spot what the new prices were. So I would really like to hear what the announcement was ASAP. I suppose I could call WDW-DINE, but I doubt they'd read the whole list of changes over the phone to me.

In the past pre-paid meals have succeeded in locking in old prices. But maybe that's why the announcement is being made so early, so they can charge the price that will be in effect at the time you dine.

Does anyone know how much the prices usually increase? If they increase too much I won't be able to afford to eat at the places I want to eat in December.

I have no direct knowledge of prior price increases, but as a worse case scenerio I would figure 10%. Based on the reports on this board most if not all of the "fixed priced" restaurants are 100% booked months in advance. By fixed price, I understand this to be the character meals, buffetts and the "show" places. I imagine there would be some exceptions.
