Do you still have to buy a one day ticket to be eligible for Disney Dining? I have 4 days left on my tickets and want to use them and then just buy dining for those days and want to make sure to budget the cost of a 1 day ticket in order to get the dining. We are planning to stay on site.

Thank you for your help!

You need to have a package in order to include a dining plan on your room key. Packages include tickets.

In the case of free dining, you need to have at least 2 day tickets for everyone in the room. Plus you need to buy a photopass memory book. If you aren't doing free dining, then a 1 day ticket for each person is fine.

The exceptions are:
  • AP holders who can add dining to an AP discounted room without having to buy a ticket.
  • DVC members and their guests who are staying at a DVC resort on points.
