i believe the answer is yes you can get away with it... but the question is, is it the right thing to do?!

If the server says it's fine then what is the problem? :confused3

I don't see a moral dilemma here. It is possible that they want to save a child's credit for a child's credit at a later date, isn't it?

There have been recent reports that a credit is a credit, that the CMs help diners figure out how to maximize the plan, etc.

Feel free to share a meal, except at buffets, and pay for children OOP and use their credits later, for either them or for an adult meal. It seems to be standard procedure; the dining plan seems very flexible.

yes... I figure we are going to do 2 extra meals.. so If I pay for hers when its cheaper then it will end up saving around 10 bucks or so.. maybe a little less.. but that will by something... sorry to bring up such a touchy matter.

Vickie46,

We did the same thing in May and we plan to do it again in Dec. We paid for my DD5's table service meals OOP and used her credits to give us an extra sit down for the family. Our waiters encouraged it and told us we were crazy NOT to...in fact the CM I spoke to when I make our PS reservations was the one who told me about the possibility. Right thing to do or not, we did it and I'm not ashamed.

I also use coupons at the grocery store...

I have no problem with it and here's why...

Disney understands that people are doing this.

Disney is not currently bothered by it or they would (and may at some point) change it.

It is not difficult to pool different kinds of credits, they could make the credits different on the card (child vs adult) easily if they wanted to, as they do it with CS vs TS. They have not choosen to do this.

It's my belief that Disney understands people are doing this, and they understand they sell more dining plans because of it.

If Disney were loosing money, they would change it. The plan states they reserve the right to change the plan whenever they feel like it.

Not everyone who asks this is planning to try to "work the system". We have 11 TS meals planned. We only have 9 TS credits per person. At some point we will HAVE to pay cash because we won't have any credits left. Obviously I am going to pay cash for the least expensive of the TS meals and use the credits for the more expensive ones. If I want to pay $6 for DS's mac & cheese on our first night and save a credit for his $11 character breakfast later in the trip then that should be FINE. In fact, that should be fine even if they all of a sudden start separating adult and child credits. Just wanted to point out that not everybody is trying to get something for nothing. :)
